Perfect enclosure
I use this with Ubuntu Server and use it as an NAS. It is quiet and you can only hear it when it spins up. I had vantec enclosures previously which were great, but I grew tired of noise the fans made and this is a great replacement. I have no issues with connectivity. The only downside is that it won't power on automatically when the computer boots so you have to power it up separately with it's own power button. I don't find that a real problem because I keep it on. I'm running a media server, Pihole and Vorta backup. It's been great.

Easiest Case to Install a Drive
The case is easy to open with no screws slides on grooved edge instead. The power button is on top and easy to get to. The material is made from cheap plastic. Not sure how it would hold up to the case being moved around a lot but for stationary purposes it is fine. It took about 30 sec to remove all the screws from the old one 6 in total and about 5 sec to install and shut the new case. There is a little sponge that sits on top of the hard drive to cut out the play from the hard drive to the case. I think it needs to be a little thicker. Again if it is going to be moved around a lot I would think twice about this case but for sitting on your desk ot is great.

Like it for now works well
I did so much research on many HHD enclosures I did not want to buy any of them. So many problems out there for such a simple device, I can't beleive it. LIKED: Holes in the bottom for air to get in, I may add some to the SIDING TOP Also. I put a crashed old 500 WD drive and this device said the drive had problems and asked to run a checksum. My old drive is now working again noisy but working SSD REPLACEMENT for this old drive. Only used twice and I like it so far. These manufactures have to come up with updates on the firmware. Otherwize these little boxes go south very fast. If this box stops working Iam going to a USB cord with a adapter for HHDs and12v power supply China sells for 5 bucks. Not going to play their game of replace every year. Good luck.

Buyer beware.
Long term review: I've had this running for 5 years now as a Synology backup and it has two major flaws to be aware of: 1) With most systems it won't power on automatically. You have to press the tiny little button on the corner once every time power is applied. After a power outage, you'll have to remember to power it back on or your backups won't run. 2) The internal SATA-USB bridge is doing some kind of drive translation manipulation, so a drive partitioned/formatted in the enclosure can't be read outside the enclosure and vice-versa. This second flaw is something I only recently discovered and am glad I did before I could get burned. If the enclosure dies, you won't be able to read the data in a different enclosure. So this goes in the trash.

Fast, affordable, simple and sleek!
I bought this enclosure for my modded Nintendo Wii. Right out of the box it was tooless and very simple to setup. Extremely good value and provided usb 3.0 speeds. It also powers down automatically everytime the Wii is powered off. I would definately recommend for anyone looking for an affordable option.

This is a Must-Have for every computer enthusiast!
What a superbly designed and engineered adapter. I have several old HD’s laying around and occasionally I need something from one of them. Previously, I used a gen-1 adapter (have to open case and plug into available HD port) and it was a pain, but this adapter makes it so utterly easy to slap an old HD into the case and hit ‘power on’. Maybe you have to be familiar with the old technology to truly appreciate this adapter.

Hard drive moves inside enclosure
I purchased this enclosure to be able to take my internal hard drive (6 tb) which is pretty heavy as it is. I opened the enclosure (pretty easy... you just push from the front to the back on the lid - find the crack and then push straight back) and installed my heavy hard drive (WD 6tb Black). I plan on carrying this with me - hence - portable hard drive. But when you move this drive it actually flops in the case a little bit. I am NOT a fan of that because movement = bad things. There is a small piece of foam they included to stick to the case lid to probably prevent movement but it does nothing. Unfortunately the search continues for a solid enclosure. If you do not want your hard drive to move, don't get this case. Or, you can stuff it with foam to prevent it but I am not willing to take that risk with my precious data.

HDDを買ってきて換装したが、USB認識しませんでした。HDDは正常に回ってるっぽく、普通にPCのSATAとつないだら使えたので、USB側に問題があるのか不確かですが使えませんでした。
