Exos X10 10TB Internal Hard Drive HDD – 3.5 Inch 6Gb/s 7200 RPM 128MB Cache for Enterprise, Data Center – Frustration Free Packaging (ST10000NM0086)

I purchased this Exos X10 10TB HDD in November 2019 to use as an external drive for Time Machine backups via my AirPort Time Capsule after its internal drive failed. It has been running flawlessly for six years now.

The drive works great. It can be heard writing data but not loud. This noise is mostly with a defragmented disk or when writing from several sources at the same time. Under normal operation it is seldom heard. It does not come with any cables or additional brackets. 10TB of storage space is nice.

Cost effective global backup for cold storage.

This is a solid hard drive! It's reliable, works with no issues. I bought a few years back. Never had any problems with it. The only issue is the noise, and the lack of screw holes (of normal pattern) on the side of it. If you need to install it inside a case, be aware that you can't really screw it that well since it has a diffrent pattern of screws. And the noise, YIKES! This beast is louder than a hot GPU. LOL

I've installed this hard drive into my home Linux server. Works great, install was easy. Noise level is no louder than the other two hard drives I have in there.

I bought 2 of these. One died after a month of working. Lost my files. It gave 512 bad sectors in one day. Never moved a drive while it was working and it was inside my PC.

No problems with delivery. We did have some compatibility problems in the 1 year old Dell Engineering workstation that we wanted to put it in (Windows 10). Finally used it in a another (Linux) machine and it seems to work OK. Never did figure out what the problem was with the first workstation and this drive.

The seller in this case is not an authorized distributer, via Seagate support. This means no warranty from the seller that sold these to me

Scam. I got 5 year old HDD with over 30000 hours run time for price of new one.

Approx 0.33% per year failure rate, 1 in 300 per year, 10x better than some other drives (Backblaze hard drive stats for 2018) Almost 9TB free space with two drives SHR BTRFS in a DS918+ (not on the Synology compatibility list for the DS918+, but does work -- listed compatible with the very similar DS1019+) Can be heard across the room when seeking, but I decided on reliability and speed vs low noise. Also has 10x better URE read error spec than most drives, less than 1 in 10^15 (good if you need to replace a drive. Datasheet with specs available online) 5 year warantee when registered (easy online). I leave them running all the time, don't hibernate the drives, or power cycle the NAS every day.

Me han llegado antes de lo previsto, pero ya me pareció raro que el numero de seguimiento proporcionado ya hubiese sido entregado, y hablando con ellos, me facilitan otro número,muy bien, pero cuando los abro, ya me doy cuenta que ni siquiera tienen embalaje original, una bolsa con autocierre, los pincho para ver el estado, y aparte de tener particiones, facimente estudiables, el disco está en riesgo, con crystal disc info y otros programas que uso para auditar, me dedico a esto, por ello la necesidad de grandes cantidades de espacio en disco, por lo que está claro su uso, al límite, o sea no nuevo, y no sólo eso, sino al borde del fallo. Esto se llama estafa, porque eran dos unidades y son iguales, igual de embaladas y usadas. Generado informe completo, para mi disposición, y para aquellas acciones que desee realizar. Solicitado reembolso, y lógicamente debo esperar, aunque no me parezca correcto. No quiero cambio, quiero devolución. Estoy decepcionado y cabreado, olvidense de mi como cliente. Lo único que puedo desear es que mi pérdida sea la misma que la suya. No ha sido un placer.
