Work Well to Keep “Stuff” from Getting in my Boots
I have a great, comfortable pair of hiking books which have only one drawback — they are so “open” at the top that small stones, gravel, twigs, leaves, snow, even bugs get flipped up and into the books as I hike. I was stopping every 1/2 mile or so to empty my shoes! And I hike almost every day. So, it was annoying. I found these gaiters on Amazon and decided to give them a try. They work great. I can hike for hours without having to empty my shoes one time. They are lightweight and fairly comfortable. They have a strap that goes under the arch of the shoe and Velcro at the back to connect them on to my boots. I was afraid that under-strap might wear out quickly but I’ve hiked a hundred miles or more wearing these gaiters and they haven’t busted yet. They do make my feet sweat a bit but then I get fairly moist after a couple hours on the trail anyway. So, yeah, they work for me. They look a little odd but then I’m too old to care what my feet look like.

Great gaiter, crummy straps
I used these on some extreme jungle hiking in Uganda. The fit and material of the gaiter is great and despite mud and jungle branches scratching at these they look and hold great. Kept the fire ants out. Only trouble is the strap that goes under your foot, it just won't hold. The small plastic clasp that holds the strap let go on one of the gaiters and no matter what I did, it wouldn't hold after the first hour. One gaiter's snap held. The gaiter w/o strap stayed in place mostly and depending on your use you may or may not need the under boot strap. They worked for what I needed, price was right, hence the four stars. The strap is disappointing though, its a trip hazard and I'll have to cut it off. I don't know if I would buy these again, but they are the only small gaiter I have tried.

Good grip around the ankles
Have tried another company and had to have my wife sew more velcro in them, this one is verry good. They are tight and fit is very good. I cut fire wood and use shorts under my cutting chaps and these keep the chips going into my boots. Have been using them and now find that the strap for the piece that goes under you boot or shoe ,clasp doesn't stay locked all the time . For me cutting with a chain saw stepping on the strap and falling with saw in hand is dangerous. They need to find a better Fastner to lock tighten on the strap.

Bottom strap doesn't stay in place
These are very light weighted and you don't even feel them on your shoes. The strap that goes under your boot doesn't stay there. No matter how tight I make the cross strap it ends up around the heal of my boot. This strap I feel is the weak point on these gaiters as they are showing a lot of wear after just a few hikes. The gaiters do protect me from getting small rocks into my boots. The top of the gaiter seem like it will last for a long time after the bottom strap rips, hopefully the gaiter could be used with out that strap.

size runs small, velco doesn' bond,
They do not fit like the picture, geeze not even close but I hoped for the best. One was so unhappy with being stretch beyond comfort, it bailed on me mid trip, never to be seen again. The other one held on for dear life and made it home. It was a sorry sight, all covered in stickers all around the edges. Even my socks laughed because they did not gain as many stickers when they were flying solo without the gaiters. I would return them if the one had not bailed on me. I wear a size 10 I would look elsewhere unless you are a tiny little person with skinny legs as they appear in the demo picture. Happy hiking.

Perfect, durability, fit, and function surpassed expectations
I just beat the heck out of these on a very wet ten days in the Cotswolds. They are light, durable, fit running shoes well, kept water out, and kept the mud at bay. The bungie seal on the calf is snug and feels good and even keeps water out, and the strong neoprene under the foot strap add security, adds a tighter seal, and the cam buckle works in the mud. These worked so well and are so light I may get them out for 14'ers and try them with my mountaineering boots as well. The charcoal colored mesh fabric front and orange back are subtle and add just the right amount of flair as you stop in for a pint.

Don’t work well.
I used these a few weeks before reviewing. There’s definitely not enough Velcro to keep them from opening. They can’t be used for off trail hiking or even ferns or deep grass. They come apart. I found if you wear them loose on the bottom they stay on better but now your catching stuff under the straps. Only fix for these would be a wider Velcro strip.

Effective and Comfortable Trail Gaiter
We use these for hiking when wearing low boots. They keep out trail dust, grit and pebbles and they're soft and silky against your leg; the top is adjustable. They're cool in warm weather. Found them easy to wear. They are not, however, particularly easy to put on because the underfoot strap has to feed into a small buckle, then change direction so that its end can be tucked into a keeper. Once on they feel secure and stay in place. A hook affixes the bottom of the gaiter to your shoe laces. It's easy to lift the hook and peel back the gaiter a bit if you need to re-adjust your laces. An excellent product.

Worked a treat
Sprayed with waterproofing spray and kept out some rain. Found that they were a little fiddly at start but I think they were not broken in. Happy with purchase.
