Best Anchovies you can get
I love Anchovies, I eat them as is and don't just cook with them. I've tried all types and brands and these are by far best Anchovies you can get. The flavor is more mild, and less fishy. I happen to like the fishy flavor to be honest I like but these also have the perfect texture, not too mushy but not too firm or waxy like some others I have tried. The salt is also on point and are the least salty I have had. The only downside is the price, these as far as flavor and texture are the best but are also by far the most expensive. I have ordered these several times and unfortunately the last order one of the 3 jars had leaked and are not edible and at $14 a jar is disappointing to say the least especially because you can't return them or get a refund. That being said I will definitely order more of these. Side note, be careful where you buy these from. There are several types from this brand and they all look similar, these are the higher quality anchovies.

Premium Price, Questionable Product
I was really disappointed with this jar of Ortiz anchovies. For $16, I expected high-quality fillets, but what I received was a jar full of mush. The anchovies were completely broken down, and the jar was covered in oil when it arrived. The smell wasnโt right either โ not like fresh olive oil, but more like old fryer grease. The lid didnโt make a popping sound when opened, and while Iโm not sure if thatโs standard for this jar type, the combination of the off smell, exterior oiliness, and mushy texture made me worry the seal had failed and the contents were spoiled.

Delicious and some of the best anchovies available
Some of the best anchovies I have ever had! I just wished that they came with a small fork to make it easier to remove them from the jar. They are absolutely delicious and the consistency and quality are always the same. I highly recommend..

Great anchovies but pricey
I've been on a hunt for the best anchovies. I make KILLER GOOD CAESAR SALAD DRESSING as well as pizza. Both require anchovies. I bought Patagonia brand and they were more like sardines than anchovies. Fuller, plumper, but nearly tasteless. I bought Seasons brand and they were more like conventional canned sardines. Ok in a pinch, although a bit boney. But since they get mashed in Caesar dressing, they work. B|but But BUT NOW i have this jar of anchovies and they are almost PERFECT. Salty, firm, flat, and NO perceivable bones. A bit on the pricey end but in this case, I'll pay for this quality. Bon Apetit !

Umami in a jar
I ordered these on the recommendation of food writer Charlotte Druckman. I love anchovies but I'd been living off the kind at my local grocery store until she sang the praises of these babies. At first I balked at the price- I can get them for a dollar locally, and they were $7 on Amazon. I got an alert that the price had gone down to $3 a jar, and so I made my move, ordering several. And OH. My. God. So good, so worth the prize. These are much meatier, with a stronger hit of umami and less of a salt taste, than the anchovies I'm used to. You could actually eat these straight out of the jar if you wanted. In fact, my preferred way to eat them is spread on a piece of toast with some butter. Really good. These anchovies don't need to be diced as finely or spread out with a tiny bit per bite- the flavor is good enough that you can eat a whole mouthful. Definitely worth it. I won't be buying any other anchovies after this.
