I bought this for my daughter. She uses it on her MP3 player and can listen to music for a long time and lower audio levels than she would with headphones. She's used this for several weeks now and I put a pair of Eneloop (Panasonic) AAA NiMH batteries. It sounds great, is lightweight and has it's own ON/OFF switch. I would buy it again

Well, I must say this is not well worth purchasing, I wanted more volume on my iPad music and wanted something small and easy to pack in my suitcase while traveling abroad. The size is perfect but the sound has no more volume than my iPad. So in my case it was a waste. This is best used for something with zero to no decibels/ if your volume completely goes out. In addition to this complaint, I must add that it takes up to if not more than a month to receive this item. I was going to refuse delivery but it was place in my mailbox. Also, most importantly the description is a “LIE” an outright lie, there is NO USB PORT, only a universal male plug for any device. I put in 2 AA batteries but cannot expound on the life due to my not using the device. I would have given it a 2 star for the size and its portability. I don’t like how the male port just sticks out, it can puncture other items during travel, so it must be wrapped carefully . I removed the extra star specifically because of the absence of the USB port.Update 8/29/19This device brings down the volume of you device, I tried it out on my phone and it actually caused my phone to ring at a much lower decibel, don’t buy, it’s junk.

I'm a little disappointed with this little speaker. It does work and takes regular AAA batteries. But the sound quality is very "tinny" and there's NO volume control. The sound comes out very soft. You have to have it right up next to you to even hear it. Maybe the sound would be a little better if you could turn it up a bit. This might be okay for kids but I'm going to look for a better external speaker for my portable CD player.

For the price you pay, this little portable speaker is good. I wanted something I could change batteries in/out of for when I'm cycling... rechargeable speakers would die on long rides. I dropped 1 of the 2 I bought the first day, still works fine.

Can't complain considering how much was paid. Does the job so far.
