Ended up with two of these. Oops. I really like this rug though.
TLDR: Its a great value and very pretty. So I wasn't sure what size to get and went to look online and lots of advice of it's better to get too big. The rug was to go under my dining table. I even saw a calculator of sorts suggesting to get around 2 feet bigger than your table. Now, I have a townhome, open concept, but I do have an area that is where the dining "room" is to be. The original rug was way too big (9x12). I was going to return it and even somehow got it back in the original shipping plastic. (If you like to camp, then you know it's like getting a cheap tent back in the storage bag, which never seems to be big enough. So this was a huge accomplishment.) I ordered the next size down (7x10) which is perfect. BTW, to return wasn't a big deal. Just bring to a UPS store. *shrug* Turns out the rug is so nice, my mom doesn't want me to send the large one back, but wants to use it at our vacation home. Yay! The one in my dining room is pretty. I don't love the fringe either. I was hoping you could remove it, but the edge under the fringe is not finished the same. So stuck with the fringe. It doesn't look bad per se, but it doesn't like to lie flat and is a pain when vacuuming and god forbid the vacuum damages it. Eek! I might turn the brush off when I vacuum that part. Hope it doesn't get damaged. My friend was over the other day and she doesn't have the same taste as me (She likes modern, minimalism stuff) but she thought the rug was "beautiful." My taste is old soul, turn of the century (the 20th one!) and Arts and Crafts and I felt this rug was very suiting and it ended up matching the striped fabric on my dining chair seats. I like that it isn't super plush. But it is thick enough and feels nice underfoot. Most of all, it is a great value. I don't know where you can get a huge 9x10 rug for around 250. Note: I got the "brown" color. The brown is a little bit olivey in color as some have noted. It's sort of if you crossed cocoa and olive. The next most prevalent colors are 1. a tan with a hint of a mustard tint, and 2. cream. Then the red which is fairly muted and pleasant. Someone was upset about the brightness of the blue color, but I would say there is so little of the blue color that once the furniture is on there, it really isn't noticeable. (It doesn't "pop") But their assessment that it was more of a pale teal/aqua blue is accurate. I like it. I think all the colors are very pretty and they match my home perfectly. I think the most accurate representation on my computer screen is the photo of the whole rug. But I know everyone's is different.

beautiful rug - much nicer than photo
I ordered this rug as a temporary item to protect newly installed hardwood floors in an office/study room where there's minimal foot traffic. I read all the reviews and had some reservations based on comments about the colors and the fringe at the end of the rug(s). The price was too good to resist, so I purchased the green/beige rug in an 8X11 size. I'm very pleased with it. It's soft and the colors are true to the images - muted, but very attractive - actually, much more attractive than the low-quality pics on the website. It's true that the fringe is the one element that looks rather cheap, but it's not a highly visible issue when the entire rug is seen on the floor. I am purchasing another rug for our living room. Certainly, these aren't heirloom, handwoven rugs to pass down for generations, but they're extremely nice for this price point and I'll use them for at least a couple of years. Definitely recommend. I'm updating this review to say I just I received the rug and can't comment on durability, but my husband has just said he wants to keep the rug until it wears out -- not just as a temporary purchase. He's very happy with it and it's a great addition to his office/study. I should also add that there is no strong or unpleasant smell with this rug, and there are no problematic wrinkles, bumps, or streaks in the colors as we've seen in reviews of other rugs. I hope this is useful to those are considering a purchase.

Durability and beauty
This rug is absolutely beautiful. Itโs true to the picture, itโs plush and thick, it lays flat. It vacuums easily and for the price it would seem like you purchased a $400 wool rug. The silky threads at the ends donโt fuzz up or get all twisted, they lay flat. This rug takes some abuse , itโs in my grandkids game room but it looks elegant anyway

GORGEOUS!!! Excellent quality
GORGEOUS! Similar 'flavor' design to British Arts and Crafts period wallpaper by William Morris. + Excellent quality + Feels soft underfoot + Like the shorter fringe. Works great with the rug pattern + Put a good quality rug pad under & it will likely last many years if properly cared for. + Color and pattern consistent throughout + Did I mention it's GORGEOUS??? Note: I am describing this based on the 12'/144" length version. That was several inches longer than stated & too long for my hallway. And as much as I LOVE the rug, the colors just aren't quite right for the space. Sad because it is truly GORGEOUS & of excellent quality.

Unexpectedly low price for the quality.
Beautiful rug. Short nap, perfect for under our dining room table. Colors are true. Shipped folded, not rolled but flattening nicely after only a few days.

Beautiful design but very poor quality rug
I like the design. The colors are muted, which I was hoping for because I wanted an antique looking rug for my space. Fringe is cheap looking - other reviewers say the same thing. The overall quality of the rug is poor. I'm not sure I can return a rug but I'm looking into it.

A must for Arts & Crafts/Mission style home!
This 8X10 rug is an absolute must-have if you decorate your home in the Arts & Crafts/Mission/Art Nuveau style. The pattern is exactly what you would find in those eras, but would easily work with current decorating trends as well. The colors are rich in tone, yet not so bright that it would be considered harsh. It is so thick and soft that it feels good to walk on barefooted. When I unrolled it there was no smell, so it didnโt need any freshening up to make it usable. It truly looks like I would have paid two-three times what I really did. This rug is an amazing accent piece that pulls the whole room together.

Yes, it's a nasty sludgy brown
I was hoping for a subtle colour art nouveau effect but the one I ordered was just a sludgy brown; very disappointing. Returned.
