Is the first inch short? I've noticed a lot of reviews of other tape measures say that the first inch on the tape is actually shorter than an inch.

I bought a two pack. One tape was accurate in the first inch while the other was short by 1/16". Oddly enough, the short tape had an accurate first centimeter on the reverse side.

It looks short but its not from edge to 1 ich mark it is one inch .these are nice tape measures my wife is a seamstress and she loves them

hi, it appears to be hard alluminum, it doesn't bend and will not come off.
