Comments on food product are always going to be divisive because everyone has different tastes. I saw that this product has >4 stars but the top rated comments are all 1-star saying this is the most disgusting vile thing. And then I went on other places like Reddit and saw similarly a mix of positive and negative comments. Etc. I debated quite at length about whether to try this out, since it's quite expensive -- ideally I could just go to a store or a friend's place and sample it first. You're probably going through the same since you're reading this comment. I can't prove to you that you'll like this, but I can at least add my thoughts:TASTE: It's pretty good. It tastes like premium hot sauce with some truffle flavor. It's quite thick, and a bit sweet. Maybe the closest approximation is if I took some ketchup, tabasco, and truffle oil, all together. Cost aside, I would gladly slather this onto fries, burger, steak, etc.. anything that I'd normally use hot sauce for.HEAT: It's not bad. Of course everyone has differing opinions on what is spicy enough, but it's overall not bad. I am no connoisseur of spiciness or scoville heat index, but I'd say it's about around the same range as sriracha sauce.TRUFFLE-NESS: Before buying this, make sure you actually like truffles. It's a distinctive, powerful aroma. I can't tell you how authentic this actually is, versus if you shaved real truffles into your hot sauce. But it does have a distinct but not overpowering truffle flavor.COST: $18 is a lot for a 6oz bottle of hot sauce. So I would use any of my normal hot sauces (e.g. Secret Aadvark is my go-to), and then use this when I want something special, have guests over, etc. But not for daily use. I would happily give this as a gift.OTHER: It's in a glass container with a screw top. It's fine for pouring, but that's not the ideal container for something that you want to get bits out of. Inevitably when I pour it, it gets on the outside rim. That's not a dealbreaker, and you probably won't notice at all, but FYI.

I randomly thought about “truffle hot sauce”, having never seen any. This was quite some time ago when I purchased my first bottle. Long story short, I now travel (even to local restaurants) with my bottle of Truff hot sauce. I’ve told so many friends about it that I joked that Taco Bell and Popeyes must’ve overheard me because they didn’t start serving Truff products until I began raving about this sauce. I even purchase bottles for friends and they get a surprise shipment at their doorstep. They have all called and raved about the taste.I will admit, I don’t really use this one foods in the place of Louisiana hot sauce, for instance. This has a slight sweetness that doesn’t properly “heat up” fried catfish, for example. Instead, I use it on pizza, certain pasta dishes, baked/broiled meats, French fries, and many other foods. I say that to say that this does NOT replace regular hot sauce — at least not in my opinion. But it does perfectly compliment a wide variety of foods.

Let's get this out of the way, if you've never had black truffle before, familiarize yourself with it before you spend 18 bucks on a bottle of hot sauce. Black truffle has a very unique flavor and aroma. If you're a picky eater then this flavor probably isn't for you.Black truffle is the major player in this sauce. It's up front and in your face. It's about 80 percent of the flavor profile of this sauce followed with some sweetness and something else I can't put my finger on. I wish there was a little more complexity in the flavors.One thing I love.....it's not as hot as other hot sauces. I love heat but sometime in my mid 30s heat stopped loving me. Too much Sriracha usually left me doubled over on the toilet the next morning wondering why "it" burns so bad. I can get generous with this sauce and not have that problem.The bottle plain blows. The mouth is wide and lacks a stopper so when you pour some on you get quite a bit that runs down the bottle and ends up as waste. Those not familiar with the wide opening will end up pouring a quarter of the bottle on their meal before they realize what they have done. I'm on my second bottle now and I don't plan to buy another until they fix the opening due to waste.

This is my favorite hot sauce ever ever. Tried it for the first time when I got a sandwich from Starbucks and was hooked right away. It goes so well with everything. The glass bottle feels very high quality. The black box it came in is very nice too. It would make a great gift. Highly recommend!!!

This is one of my favorite go to sauces, but now it’s definitely my number one favorite because they changed the bottle and now have a little insert at the top which makes it easier to dispense onto your food. Before it just rolled out of the bottle and was hard to control. Good job changing the design!

Glad I listened to the majority of reviewers! This isn’t burn your tongue off hot so may not suit everyone but plenty spicy and hot enough with great balance of truffle flavour. This will be a staple in my kitchen.

If you're here for heat, look elsewhere. If you're here for flavor, buy with confidence assuming you enjoy truffles.This is absolutely fantastic. I couldn't say how many hot sauces I've bought and sampled over the years, but without question I'd put this in my top 5 as far as flavor is concerned. The truffle aspect is pronounced, but it's not the only thing you'll notice on the palate. I wouldn't have thought agave would go with the ingredients, but it's a nice touch, and the overall presentation is exceptional. Packaging is often an afterthought, but there is a lot of attention to detail here. The cap looking like a truffle is another distinctive factor.A few months back, I ended up doing a hot sauce tasting with a lineup of ~12 sauces with varying scoville ratings. (Similar to hot ones) Six people participated, and five of us chose this sauce as their personal favorite. The last person placed it a close second.Would be nice if this was a little cheaper, but it's not a local product and I get that truffle oil isn't exactly an inexpensive ingredient.Will definitely be a repeat customer.
