I used this to paint the front sights on my curio and relic pistols and also to highlight the insignia stamping and the caliber stamping. The gold against the blued steel of the guns looks incredibly good and the sights show up really nicely against the black steel targets at the range. Many people at the range stop by to admire the revolvers and say incredibly expressive things like "gosh". I tell them it helps me to extend my personal space to 100 yards or so.........

I use this for Copperplate calligraphy. It has a gorgeous sheen and is the perfect consistency for dip pen work and fine lines. Looks great on both white and black paper. Highly recommended.

There were several choices when I went to buy a gold ink and looking at all the pictures some seemed more green than gold and some seemed very dull in color. The picture on this one was the only one that seemed like a bright shiny gold. It isn't.It is a very dull color. Looks more like a redish brown when on the paper. There are gold flecks that you can see if the light hits it right but they are not prominent in a rather yukky colored puddle of color.Really needs a ball bearing to help with mixing. It took me quite a while of shaking to get the gold off the bottom of the bottle. When mixed in the bottle, the color is more of a dull antique gold. But it really doesn't come out on paper like that even.The only way I can think to use this is to pour some out on a non-porous surface and let it dry and then see if I can scrap off the gold and use it that way. The base color is just ugly and I won't be adding it to my artwork.
