Teaches kids to stand for Christ amid attacks from others..even Christians.
Scripture tells us why we shouldn't celebrate Halloween or even imitate it. And that's where we need to go to find the truth about it. For my Christian brothers and sisters who defend Halloween and decide to resort to name calling or fake outrage, these are for you..and I pray God speaks to your heart and you can no longer defend it in the face of His truth:1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 ("Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.")James 1:27 ("keep oneself from being polluted by the world")3 John 1:11 ("do not imitate what is evil")Romans 12:9 ("abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.")Deuteronomy 18:9-14 (do not learn to imitate detestable ways, including spiritists, sorcerers and witchcraft)Ephesians 5:11-12 ("Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness" / "live as children of light")1 Timothy 4:1 (don't "follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons")1 Corinthians 10:21 (You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons.)2 Corinthians 6:14-17 ("what fellowship can light have with darkness?")Philippians 4:8 (think about pure, lovely, noble things)1 Corinthians 11:1 ("follow the example of Christ")1 Corinthians 10:31 ("whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God")James 4:7-8 (submit yourselves to God / resist the devil / purify your hearts)Ezekiel 44:23 ("...teach my people... to distinguish between the unclean and the clean.")Proverbs 22:6 ("train a child in the way he should go")Matthew 18:6 ("if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin...")Hosea 4:6 ("My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.")John 3:19-20 (people love darkness instead of light)Romans 13:12 ("put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.")Ephesians 6:11-18 ("take your stand against the devil's schemes.")1 John 5:19 (We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.)2 Chronicles 7:14 (and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. )Leviticus 20:26 ('Thus you are to be holy to Me, for I the LORD am holy; and I have set you apart from the peoples to be Mine.)Isaiah 5:20 (Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter)Teach your children early to stand up for Christ and be set apart from the world, or they will imitate your excuses for following darkness and end up in the midst of sin.

This book explains pretty well why we shouldn’t take our kids to celebrate “Halloween”.
This book have good information and helped my kids to understand why I don’t take them to celebrate “Halloween “ and thanks God my kids lost interest of this holiday. As mother and as Christian I recommend this book for everyone is looking to open the eyes of their kids or anyone in the family. The true story of Halloween, and what is hiding behind the costumes, and candies. Thanks to the person who wrote this book.

May God bless Linda Winwood for writing this book!!!
Every year as Halloween approaches, I pull this book out and read it to my children. Anyone who says this book is shameful ought to be ashamed themselves. This book offers the truth regarding the history of Halloween. Everything about Halloween is rooted in evil- the costumes, the words, "trick or treat", even the jack-o-lantern. As a Christian, I am trying to raise children who love and revere the Lord; children who please Him. They cannot please Him doing things that have their roots in evil. To all the critics of this book, I say, it doesn't matter to me whether the Celts worshipped the devil himself or nature. God said, "Have no other Gods except me." He said we are not to make graven images or bow to worship anything or anyone, but Him. So if someone worships nature, they're still an idol worshipper! And as far as the notion that this book promotes separation and bigotry- I say, that's ridiculous!!! My family is planning to embrace our neighbors who do celebrate Halloween by handing out candy with a message- the message that Jesus is Lord...the way, the truth and the life and no one can get to the Father except through Him. We don't see ourselves as better than anyone; or as perfect...only as forgiven, and it is our desire that all experience the love, forgiveness and peace that can only come through a relationship with Jesus Christ. We are thankful that Linda Winwood did the research, had the courage and took the time to help us, CHRISTIANS, walk in greater obedience to our Savior. If you're not a Christian; if it's not your desire to please God in all of your ways... then simply don't buy the book!!!

Great Book - poor cover
The book was exactly what I wanted to read for my children and they understood the message and I appreciated the well thought out info. I would recommend this book to all of my friends to explain why Christians should separate ourselves from any appearance of evil. I just wanted to say the only reason I gave this a 4 star is because the front cover was very muted and not as colorful as the pic on Amazon. It looks like the pic has been color copied over and over again. I know when you use a copy to copy over and over again it becomes muted and no longer crisp and clear. As we are all trying to pinch our pennies nowadays I thought for the price it should have been better bound and have a crisper picture. That is my only complaint otherwise I HIGHLY recommend the message in the book.

Still the only book resource for Christian parents
I've been reading this book to my daughter since she was 3yrs old and to this day she can ably summarize why we don't celebrate Halloween. We don't even get a hassle for substitute activities. This book is written for the 2nd grader and up but if you're unsure of how to word your beliefs in little kid terms it is a pretty good guide. It also gives adults a concise explanation if they have questions too. Really good read. I gave it 4 stars because the illustrations are in black and white which is not as attention-holding but that's a minor issue.

Awesome
I love how this book explains in detail about the origins of Halloween and why Christians shouldn’t celebrate it. This book is understandable for my 10 year old.
