While the magnetic portion is strong, the usb-c tip doesn't fit snugly in the slot on the Macbook Pro, thereby tending to easily slip out from the slot when the laptop is moved (I don't believe that the magnetic tip will ever get an opportunity to disengage). The magnetic tip doesn't sit flush with the laptop body while installed in the slot, and perhaps that is the reason why it is loose. Otherwise, the build quality of the cable itself seems to be good! I rarely provide negative feedback or return items, but this one is definitely headed back (unless i can figure out a way to secure the tip in the slot in a more snug fashion).UPDATE 09/07: Did not send it back since I found a work around. However, as of this morning, it just quit working! LED indicator still active, though does not charge the laptop any longer. Would definitely NOT recommend!

To be clear, I had a totally different experience with this charging cable compared to others in the review section. This is actually my second purchase of it. The first one is almost a year old since I got it to charge my LG Gram laptop via usb-c port. It still powers my laptop (45W rated) and phone fast (Qi 3.0 quick charge) without any trouble. Yes, it gets warm at magnetic connecting tips but I expect that normal occurrence.The reason I got this second time is to place one in my car to use android auto without having to push the cable into charging port. The magnetic connection is a game changer when driving. However, it has a con that you may lose connection when your car goes on rough roads or over a bump. But this is not a big deal since it will connect back automatically and your maps is still there. I still have it in my wish list to get more when it is back available since usb-c and magnetic is a lovely tech combination these days. I made this review to share my real experience since I feel bad when seeing its bad ranking.

Such a great idea but I have bought 2 of these and both have stopped working within 7 days of purchase. I'm a geek so I know how to handle cables. When I bought the second one I even asked my wife not to touch it so I'll be in charge. As I already said it broke (stopped working) after 7 days. Do not waste your time because it sucks when you cannot charge your laptop.

The first cord I ordered stopped working after two weeks. I was able to exchange it and the second one was worse as it only worked for 24hrs. Once I unplugged it and plugged it back in, it stopped. No more green light and no power. It was a dead cord just like the first cord I ordered.

This worked... for literally five minutes. Once I unplugged it and plugged it back in, it stopped. I was able to get it to reconnect by flipping it around a few times, but even then it was spotty at best. Unfortunate.
