Kids and Adults can benefit from this book!
I am a riding instructor and purchased this book as a resource for my personal library to pull ideas for children's lessons. I like to have as many resources as possible for both my personal training, and the teaching of others, since every individual horse or student is different and learns in different ways. This book is well written and easy to understand. I have applied many of the concepts to my students' lessons, and they have expressed they have benefitted from them. There is also information on teaching horses to jump. YES, adults can benefit from this book as well. If you are new to jumping or English riding, do not hesitate because it is written for children, that just means things are broken down into easier steps, which can benefit everyone. I would recommend this to children or adults who are new to English riding, or interested in jumping, or those that are already in lessons, as this would make a good additional resource. It includes a lot of great tips, like equipment, information on taking lessons, basic terminology, training techniques, and how to get ready to start jumping, how to teach your horse to jump, plus a lot more. It is also a large book, with +130 pages.

Great for adult beginners, too!
I'm an adult experienced rider, have ridden for 20+ years, showed on the flat for several years in my youth, but am just now learning to jump. I found that jumping books aimed at adults assumed too much previous knowledge. This book starts at the true beginner level, with clear photographs and explanations of proper distances, rider position, etc. Also, as a very short-legged adult riding a smaller horse over SMALL fences, I find that the photographs in this book are a much better representation of the position, distance, etc. that my horse and I need, than typical "jumping" photos and videos of 17-hand horses going over enormous fences. This book won't teach you everything you need to know (an experienced trainer or mentor is obviously best for that) but it made me feel much less mystified about jumping.

Jumping: safe thrill seeking!
A beautiful book, featuring capitvating photos of kids with their horses and ponies, packed full of easy to read information. My 4-H club kids pick this up & look through it often! A good basic book to wet the appetite for more knowledge on jumping, the safe thrill seeking! :-)While you won't learn all you need to know about jumping here, you will get a great over view in a lovely package, worth a read.

Great wee book
Really liked this book & my young daughter picked it up & read it too & commented on how good it was. If you need ideas on how to set up jumps & work your pony over them, this is a very good starting point. Easy to read & excellent pictures. Well worth buying

FAST delivery!
The book was in great shape, but a little older looking than I anticipated. The book arrived sooner than expected which I appreciated. The book was going to be used as a reference guide for instructing at a horse camp.

My 11 year old loves this book. The photography is a bit outdated but it's a nice book.
