A great case although size-wise and protection-wise, I don't think it's much different from the Commuter
My previous OtterBox product was a Commuter case for my Galaxy Note 2. After about a year or so, the soft plastic inner sleeve began to stretch a bit, so that the fit around the volume and power button was a bit loose. It wasn't a problem but it was noticeable. I also found the water-sealing flaps for the ear bud jack and power jack to be an annoyance so I cut them off. Other than that, it was a great case. It protected my Note 2 for the two years that I used it and when placed face-down, it was grippy enough that it wouldn't slide very easily. Size I've only had the Symmetry case for my Note 4 for about 4 days but so far, things look very good. But first, a warning: if you are expecting this to be a slim case, you be very disappointed. It's not much thinner than a Commuter case. I chose the Symmetry over the Commuter for its unified-piece construction which I expect will avoid the looseness of the inner sleeve that I experienced with my Commuter case, plus I thought that any decrease in thickness would be welcome. While I was waiting for the Otterbox case to begin production, I bought an inexpensive Ringke slim case for interim protection. Now THAT is a slim case. IMO it was only good for improving the grip-ability of the phone and to prevent scratches. In contrast, the Symmetry case is thicker by 50-70%. So be prepared for your phone to double in thickness when you install this case. For me, it's not an issue because I've carried my Note 2 in its Commuter case for 2 years without any problems: front skinny jeans pocket, back jeans pockets, chest pocket, jacket pocket, etc. The only time the phone is a bit too bulky is in the pseudo-cargo pockets of my stretchable, convertible travel pants which are slim cut. But the problem there is the width and length of the phone, not its thickness. And if you're looking for drop protection, you shouldn't be looking at slim cases anyway. Ease of Installation Installation is a bit easier than the Commuter since the Commuter requires that you put the inner sleeve on, and then the outer shell. The Symmetry requires that you only put on one thing: the unified sleeve/case. Symmetry is a bit tighter to install, though. Drop Test One day after getting the case, I accidentally subjected it to a drop test. I was trying to slip the phone into the chest pocket of my jacket but missed (maybe I was not yet used to the new dimensions caused by the case). I was standing, and my phone fell from chest height directly onto the pavement. It bounced on its bottom corner, and then bounced a few times face down. The phone was unharmed and the case sustained a single, pin head-sized dimple, on the corner near the stylus opening. The Back Is Not Perfectly Flat The back of the case has three ridges around the speaker opening. Some people have complained about this because it doesn't allow the phone to sit flat on a table. For how I use the phone, it's not a problem. I rarely ever interact with my phone when it's laying flat on a table. Also, the reason for those ridges is to allow sound from the speaker to bounce off of the table and out from under the phone so that the phone can be on its back while using it in speaker phone mode, or while watching videos without ear buds. That Ringke case I mentioned earlier was smooth on the back and yes, the rear-facing speaker was very muted when laid on a table. So much so that I always had to prop it up on something in order to let the sound come out. Compared to the Commuter The Symmetry doesn't include a screen protector or the ear-bud and USB port protection flaps. For my uses, this is not a problem. On my Commuter, I cut off the flaps, anyway, because I found them to be a hassle to keep opening/closing. Due to its bonded, unified construction, I expect that the Symmetry will retain its tight fit longer than the Commuter. Some people say that the Commuter buttons require less push effort than the Symmetry. Compared to my Note 2's Commuter case, I don't think the Symmetry requires any more force. And, personally, I like the firm buttons because it means that when my phone is ringing, I can reach into my pocket and grab the phone by its edges without accidentally pressing the power button. My Only Complaint For what a screen protector costs, I was very surprised that OtterBox didn't include one with the Symmetry, the way they did with the Commuter. I wouldn't affect my decision to buy the case but it does affect my opinion of the company.

The Best Otterbox yet!
Love this case even more than the Commuter I use on my S4. It's very slim, attractive and seemingly impenetrable. The minimal curve on the back mentioned by a few others is, I find, no problem when using the phone on a desk. This is a solid, quality case which is custom fit for my USC Note 4. The only (nitpicky) issue I'm having on the 2nd day of use is that the power switch cover is stiff and needs additional pressure to power on, but I have no doubt this will be a non-issue as it softens up with use. Because the case is all one piece, the phone snaps in firmly, and there's no way it could accidentally pop out. I also like that the inner layer is cushioned yet stiff, so fits snugly around the screen with a generous and protective lip. Before I bought this case, I wasted money on a Caseology with a flimsy frame, unlikely to provide any real protection for a phablet like Note 4; the Symmetry is clearly far superior in quality and construction. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it -- it complements the phone, is easy to grip and will probably save my phone's life multiple times over the next few years. ;-)

I have had quite a few cases for my note already. Some were metal edged others plastic. due to the size of this phone a case not only needs to minimize bulk, it needs to address the fact that this is heavy and can become very uncomfortable when used with one hand. The way it rests on your pinky can become uncomfortable after just a couple of moments, by the end of the day you might windup taking the case off. This case is great because they take the hard sharp edges of the phone and round them out much like the note 2 which was a far more comfortable phone to hold than this one. The case fits perfectly there is no give anywhere it feels as solid as the phone possibly even more so. There are no gaps, the port holes for the pen, charger, mic and headphone jack are properly sized. the rubber bumper along the front works well to protect the phone but does not make it to sticky to make it hard to get in and out of your pocket. The only issue I have with this case is that it is not the shiny matte finish that it appears to be on the pictures, it is more like a dimpled look, it looks far cheaper than it does in the picture. Because this case is so much better than anything else out there I would not hesitate to recommend this, but I do take issue with the inaccurate pictures from otter box. I have tried to capture the texture as accurately as possible in the attached pictures

A must buy to protect your Samsung Note 4. It's incredibly sturdy. I really don't see how or why you would need the bulkier more protective model such as the defender but just my thoughts. it looks good, very esa esthetic, and you can tell it's very protective, but it's just that little bit bulky, but just enough to protect but without being over board. it protects the screen well, well, at least around the screen. The only thing I would suggest is that if you want a more grippy textured kind of feel that you should get something else. I my self love the case. But if it was that bit more grippy, maybe I'd like it better, but then again maybe not. Probably if it was more grippy it probably would have difficulty sliding into a pocket and stuff like that, so, a very nice case.

Great case, tight fit on the 3.5 mm plug.
Pros. Fast shipping! Way thinner than the defender series. Still slips in and out of my pocket easily. The raised lip around the screen protects the glass but still allows for full and easy access to the screen Cons. A bit slippery, it can easily slide off of my bed or the arm rest in my truck. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is a tight fit for the cable I use to plug into my stereo (but it does fit all of my headphones). Overall. It doesn't 'feel' as durable as defender cases I've had in the past but I've dropped my phone a couple of times now and it still works! This case slips in and out of my pocket and the entire screen is accessable. Looks great and arrived quickly! I would buy this again.

I like it. I've been using it for a few weeks now. I hate the way Otterbox looks, but this one is not bad. Good quality plastic, doesn't seem like the type that is brittle.

Decent case, I think it is discontinued though.

Looks great and not bulky. It is comfortable to hold and can easily fit into a small pocket with the case on. It protects the phone very well but it does get dirty easily and can even stain.

Very nice fit on my white note 4, looks awesome and good feel plus not to big I find it better than the commuter version just a bit smaller.
