No It will get hot and 🔥. I have used 2000 2s 35c. They work great. Run the bigger batteries after upgrading the motor and esc.

Q: Mine won’t connect the ON light just won’t connect and the light flashes weird

Make sure your battery is fully charged. New batteris in your controller. Turn controller on first then your rc. Then try turning the wheels left to right to verify that the controller and vehicle are bound.
