THIS IS NOT AN IR LAMP!!!!
If, like me, you sometimes buy an item without reading the feedback, occasionally you'll get it wrong. In this instance, I hope (if you're reading this) you haven't already made the same mistake.This is NOT an Infra-red lamp. While it is probably a perfectly useful white light, if you're hoping to use it in darkness to better illuminate the view for your infra-red security cameras, then this will not make you happy. I'm not happy.I don't quite know how Amazon got away with putting it in the IR category. I guess one might argue that the white light spectrum will at some point include the infra-red frequency. Except I don't want all of them, as this light produces.I then assumed there must be some misunderstanding, as the lamp does go out with a light level sensor, I assumed this was it switching (maybe?) to IR. Again...nope...its just a plain, white, bright LED light.Don't buy. Unless you want a little extra white light of course.

This is NOT an IR light for CCTV systems
This is supposed to be a CCTV IR lamp. It is NOT.It is a standard 6000k LED mini floodlight.It has no automatic night time sensor.It is 6 watts (NOT 18 watts as advertised)In other words for CCTV systems this is totally USELESS

Not an IR light, load of rubbish
Wish I had read the reviews write I purchased. As stated before this is just a spotlight and is wrongly listed as an IR light. Had already installed it before I realised. Waste of money and time.

Fine for the price best version for open spaces
Makes a visible difference and a point often missed increases the cameras ability to capture a more defined image when it’s dark ie moving person. I bought four different types of these Chinese ir illuminators and this one was the best all round for open spaces.

Very bright, covers a decent area
Works very well, keeps insects and spiders away from my camera

NOT infrared
This is not an infrared lamp it is just an ordinary white floodlight.No use for cctv and is constantly on and lights up the area with visible light.Makes cctv useless at night.
