Amarena Cherries Tin 400 g (Pack of 2)

Years ago I tried and loved Fabbri Amarena cherries in Italy. Somebody recently reminded me of them so I thought I would order some. Unfortunately I was completely put off by the price, at over £20 for a 600g jar. Looking for alternatives, I found these Toschi Amarena Cherries. OK, they are hardly cheap, but do represent much better value than the Fabbri band, so I ordered them.What a good buy it turned out to be! I received 2 tins which have tear off metal lids and are supplied with plastic lids to reseal the tin if you don't use all the contents in one go. Flavour wise, these are very close to the Fabbri brand, though possibly a little sweeter. If you have never tried Amarena cherries, then you are in for a treat. These are sour cherries when picked, but after being packaged in syrup, all sourness disappears and you are left with this amazingly deep and intense almond-like flavour. They taste so goo that it seems a shame to do anything with them other than eat them straight from the tin. However they are superb in cakes, wonderful spooned over vanilla ice cream and stunning made into a cherry mousse. I have even rinsed the syrup off a few which I then cooked down a bit with a little lemon juice and stock, and used them as a sauce for duck which worked really well. I will be buying them again (good to keep in the cupboard for special occasions) and I am happy to recommend them to others.

These have a lovely crunchy texture and they taste wonderful. They pack a high sugar hit but you only need four or five to transform an individual Greek yoghurt into an indulgent dessert. I drain a little of the syrup and mix it with vodka - you have to mix it thoroughly as the syrup immediately sinks to the bottom of the glass. The syrup also enlivens sparkling mineral water if you are participating in Dry January!

Excellent product but this is not a size of 400g x 2, but 2 tins of 160gr each.

These are such great value for money!Dont waste your money getting the fancy jar when the tins are just as good.Super addictive cherries!

The packet was delivered two days after submitting the order, perfectly packed.The cherries are not as big as Fabbri ones, but the taste is the same.

If you cook - bake, if you will try taste - you will never buy other cherries

Ya lo he comprado varias veces en varios formatos, la calidad es muy buena, es un sabor característico y no conozco a nadie que no le guste, la pega es que estoy seguro de que le pueden ajustar el precio .

Je connaissais le produit pour l’avoir acheté en Italie au temps où on pouvait se déplacer. Cerises amarene en sirop qui font merveille dans un tiramisu. Je recommande aux gourmands... et aux autres.
