Excellent map wheel. Could have done with some instruction details though
Works perfectly, and seems a very good quality instrument. Only thing is, I wish it had come with even basic instructions. I mean, I know that if you have a 1:50,000 map, you just read off the distance in km and that's fine. What I don't get is the scale on the flipside (it's a double-sided dial), which is in miles, but only on a 1inch=1 mile map).Surely it'd have been more use to have one side in km, the other with the same multiple scales, but in Miles??

It's ok, feels a little brittle
Very basic, feels like it would snap if I pressed too hard. Bought it for demonstration in Navigation courses, so wasn't expecting much for the money, it seems accurate but haven't checked it over any distance for route planning, has to be better than using a straight edge though.
