Would be better if the camera was a wider angle to capture a bigger area but other than that, it's very good. Easy to install and I love the alarm bell. It's a fantastic feature that really differentiates it from many competitors. The bell can also be cancelled from the app. Very good.

I like Somfy products, I used them when they were still myFox and to be honest I've found them to be very reliable and easy to use. This camera integrates a nice motion detector and loud 110 decibel alarm alongside HD video recording. I disliked that the only way to use this is to wire it yourself, I found it a bit cheap, I get that it gives you more options but being able to plug in a standard power cable would have made my life so much easier, I ended up getting my dad to help. This being said, once it was up we were very happy, the siren is now our outdoor siren for the alarm system - myFox - which we use, and the camera is a nice addition to our existing CCTV. Unfortunately, as the 4 stars indicates, the experience isn't perfect. Camera resolution although 1080p isn't very sharp. ,My Logi Circle cameras certainly look better when it comes to video quality. 7 day recording will also cost £8 a month. Which is steep. This camera is nice, it looks good and the siren is a nice addition, but the video quality leaves something to be desired, as such a strong 4 stars.

It took me a good while to get this installed because I was waiting for the right wire to be able to loop back to a lamp, but eventually I gave up and went ahead with a standard non light based install (the light control I will add later) Install is easy, you put the somfy protect app on your phone and it presents a barcode to "show" the camera which is neat. Presumably this barcode gives the camera the wifi AP details. The functionality is actually pretty decent. It can detect motion with a customisable grid, albeit a coarse one, but enough to remove pavement/road/neighbours. The motion detect so far seems excellent, I'm guessing it's using the PIR mainly as it seems to be unphased by sun/clouds or reflected headlights at night which is good. I like the siren, it's very loud. You can manually make it go off or when "armed" it works like a dead man's switch, after motion is detected it counts down, if you don't disarm it, the siren goes off. This is useful if you're out of range, but I guess could lead to false alarms. It can be turned off in the app, so, temporarily even if you're in a meeting or whatever. Image quality is nothing short of excellent both day and night. If you have a ring doorbell you'll know that image quality has dropped massively on those, but this feels like the ring used to be back a couple years ago. You can probably sense my annoyance with ring, so please somfy, if you're going to drop the video quality, please at least offer a premium option so we can see faces! The app works well although on one phone I do occasionally lose picture and get a "holding screen" telling me the camera is unavailable, when I can see it perfectly well on the other phone. Logging out and back in tends to fix it, but if the devs are reading this, would be cool to have a fix! The somfy ecosystem also plays well with IFTTT so the light pass through can be augmented with other actions if you're into that, I may well be into that when I have time! Even geofencing on the arm / disarm is an option. Nice. Suggestions I have would be to customise the "countdown" time to the siren (hardcoded 3 mins) and adjust the siren length (hardcoded also to..I think 3 mins?) Other sirens would also be cool, like a warning message or a ding dong noise or even a custom sound (mine would probably be ominous vintage gramophone music). I'm going for 5 stars as an initial rating because it really does perform well. I will adjust if I hit any technical problems but so far so good!

I've had an indoor security camera for a while, given to me as a present and whilst I initially thought I had no use for it, it turned out that I do like review the last 24 hour clips that device provides. Here I can think of many use cases for an outdoor camera, but whilst execution is generally as good as I'd expect from a security camera, it just doesn't serve it's purpose without an ongoing subscription. Only being able to capture short clips and only 10 seconds or so. The camera itself is well packaged, the design is simple and I would say elegant. It's a little bigger than I had in mind, and whilst it appears well sealed, I would want to avoid it getting wet, so ideally use in an area will some sort of roof or gutter overhang cover. The manual provides straight-forward instructions to install. If you're able to install a wall face-place then you pretty much have the skills to do this. However accessibility to an outdoor electrical terminal isn't a given for victorian houses in london. However luckily I have a porch light that can be daisy chained to the camera. Once connected and mains power turned on, you simply link to the smartphone app and are able to access features like the mic and alert preferences. I'm quite impressed by the alerts, which pop up on your phone, or can be sent to your email. This feature was super annoying as being on a main road, people walk by all the time, so it was difficult to wide angle camera to just focus on those individuals coming onto the front garden. The mic to talk to people such as the postman or intruders and the siren to put them off is pretty good. I like that the app geofences to remind you to set notifications when you leave the property. In call, this is a great camera that I have few issues with. I can appreciate the concerns from other reviews I've read, the main one being the image quality isn't that great, but you're never going to get a good image from these sorts of devices, at least not enough to get detail to get a photo likeness of a person. However the deterrant features are pretty great and okay value for money given this is not a cheap chinese seller. One thing I did think about during this review. The ability to see and speak to people are a great airbnb feature, if you were to couple this with a smart-lock. You could probably manage your property without ever having to hand over any keys.

I have this set up in my back garden and plumped for the mains socket installation. You can also connect to electric wall outlet by replacing an existing fitting or creating one, the mains cable solution was easy to set up, just buy a cable and plug and attach the cable to the unit, job done. Once hooked up to the mains, it was easy to set up, just download the app and follow the instructions, it took around 5 minutes as it had to download a few updates. Video quality is good, but not fantastic, you can easily make out facial details etc and the camera covers a wide area which is good. The night vision is pretty good too and easily illuminates my back yard. Without having to pay any subscription, every time the camera detects movement, it records a 10 second clip to the cloud for you to view. This is really good. You have to use the app to activate or deactivate the monitoring, however, you can view the live camera feed in either mode whenever you like. It will sound an alarm when it senses movement, but i've switched this off. You can also use the app to speak to people however, there is about a 4 second delay from when you speak until they can hear you. So, the video quality is good and in general use it works well, however, the notification side of things is just annoying, and I can't find a way to turn these off (other than block notifications on my phone). When the camera is activated, you receive a phone notification and also an email. As I've said, the phone notifications you can turn off on your phone, but the email you can't so if the camera is triggered regularly, you can end up with an inbox full of notifications which is really annoying. You can obviously just use a false email, but the app should allow you to just suspend notifications for an amount of time, it just doesn't allow this so it all becomes really annoying. Also, whenever you activate/deactivate the camera, it plays a stupid tune on the camera, not the app, and you can't disable this! This is just not required, especially so when my camera is situated near my sons bedroom so I can't activate/deactivate it without the risk of waking him up! Other than that, the actual camera is pretty good. Somfy just need to update the app to make it much more configurable regarding the notification side of things, and be able to turn off the stupid activation/deactivation 'tune'.

I am not an expert by any means on cameras but am reasonably tech savy but don't mind admitting I was a little worried about setting this up. Once my husband had set it up and it had mains power the rest was down to me. It was pretty easy to set up on the phone via the app and it links features such as the mic etc. The one big thing that put me off was that it tells you to avoid direct sun or rain. Now considering this is an outside camera I was a little baffled but we managed to put it under s light overhang which gave it some protection. The image quality is what I would call average. Don't get me wrong it's certainly a good way of putting potential burglers off but in honesty I thought the picture quality would be better. I do like the fact you can see and speak to people via the mic (but this is largely dependant on where you place the camera) but I wasn't blown away with it.

I've used a few different security cameras over the years, but nothing as modern and as high tech as this, so I was quite excited to give it a go. It claims that it is easy to install, I'm no expert at things like this so I got my father to do it for me. It seemed easy enough, he had it done in about 15 minutes and I was up and running. I had it installed relatively high up near the front door so that it's protected by the overhang above. Despite being an outdoor camera it does advise to keep it out of the rain and direct sunlight. Setup was a doddle, the app pretty much does it itself and it automatically shares all of your network passwords with the camera. There are a couple of interesting features offered by the camera, motion detection and the ability to communicate via the in-built mic. The motion detection works well and you get notified on your phone if there is motion detected, the camera has a built-in siren so that can be used if needed. What I do find handy is being able to communicate with people at the door via the camera. Quite often I've just nipped out and a parcel or something will turn up, a couple of times I've been able to communicate with the delivery driver and give instructions to leave it somewhere safe. Video quality could be better, it's supposed to be full HD 1080P but looks more like 720P at times. In bright daylight at a distance it looks fine, but in other conditions and if you're looking close up then the image worsens. There are also a few issues with the app, a few mislabelled items or things that haven't been translated into English so you've no idea what they are unless you understand French. There are one of two features that you're not quite sure how to activate or use them and there is no clear guidance anywhere. For a deterrent it works fine, if anyone sees a camera then they'd probably think twice before breaking in. Couple that with the built-in siren and two-way communication and it can be quite effective. You are paying almost £250 so I'd expect a bit more polish for the money.

I had high hopes for this camera but was ultimately disappointed. I’m going to compare it with my favourite of the three different CCTV cameras I already use. I still haven’t found the perfect (for me) camera, but the Netatmo Presence comes closest. I rejected Swann, Ring, Nest, Arlo and Logitech for a variety of reasons, although they all had one benefit or another over the Presence. First impressions of the Somfy Outdoor Camera are that it’s brilliantly easy to install but video quality is inadequate and the only storage option is an expensive cloud subscription. INSTALLATION Installation and setup of this camera from Somfy is significantly easier than any other I’ve tried (Netatmo being the worst of any of them). Screw the backplate to the wall (two plugs and screws supplied). A mains cable (no earth required) is then attached to a choc-block on the backplate. Power supply could come from an existing light, a flex fed through the wall and plugged into an indoor socket, or a dedicated new supply from a spur box. Optionally, a cable for lights triggered by the camera can be connected to secondary terminals on the backplate. Lastly, the camera clips into place and is secured by a single screw. Strangely, for an outdoor camera, you’re advised to avoid direct exposure to sun or rain! That would mean installing on a north wall under some kind of shelter, which could be a little restrictive! Now, fire up the app. It finds the camera and sets everything up pretty much by itself. You don’t even have to supply your network password, email address or other details – it seems to pick them up from your phone. It couldn’t possibly be easier. Wonderful. PHYSICAL The Somfy is a smart-looking camera. It has a microphone and speaker, also a siren, all of which work well. The mic/speaker are great for talking to callers when you’re away from home although there’s a delay of about 3 seconds before speech is heard (perhaps more if you’re away from home?). The siren can be a pain when you’re trying to adjust the angle of view but is then very useful. It will sound automatically if the camera is tampered with or can be sounded using the app if an intruder is spotted. The Netatmo has a built in (not very powerful) floodlight but no speaker or siren, and its microphone is poor. In appearance, it’s a bit of a brick, but some might think it contemporary and quite classy. Although the Somfy camera has a ball & socket mounting, it will only swivel 15° at best in any direction. Netatmo offers a lot more flexibility. The Somfy camera uses about 2W electricity, so will cost just £2-£3 per year to run. The Netatmo burns a little more, at about 3W. APP The Somfy app isn’t the most intuitive. There’s some strange English and odd navigation. A couple of words haven’t been translated at all, e.g. Revoir (Replay). Some of the symbols are confusing – touch the speaker icon and it isn’t clear whether you’ve switched it on or off, for example. And what on earth is Private Mode? The app doesn’t say, and I haven’t found any documentation to download. It isn’t obvious how to stop the siren either. The Netatmo app shows how it should be done. VIDEO QUALITY This is perhaps the most important aspect. I changed the definition from the default HD to Full HD before testing. And yes, I did remove the plastic protection from the lens! Image quality is significantly less sharp than Netatmo. Colours are more accurate than Netatmo but that’s generally unimportant for CCTV. Somfy offers a wider angle of view which is good if you want to maximise coverage but not so good if you want to zoom in on details like faces or number plates. I’ll attach a couple of screen grabs from videos downloaded to my phone from both cameras. The Somfy is installed only temporarily for now, on a windowsill a little above the Netatmo. You’ll see from the grabs that the van’s number plate is illegible with Somfy but easy to read with Netatmo. The same was true of my face when I tried it (but you don’t want to see that!). I couldn’t get a full-face shot of the postman from the Somfy video because it started recording too late, but he was clearly identifiable in the Netatmo video. The still images in the email alerts from Somfy was a little better than grabs from the videos but the number plates and faces were still unrecognisable. Night images are brighter with Somfy but less sharp again, with faces almost impossible to identify. VIDEO STORAGE Other than video quality, the thing that would stop me buying this camera is the need to pay for cloud storage. If you don’t, you only get 10-second clips and they’re only retained for 24 hours. You can download them during the 24 hours. There’s a significant delay between clips, so, for example, I get 10 seconds of the postman arriving but none of him turning and leaving. Continuous video recording for 24 hours to cloud cost £3.99/month, or continuous 7-days recording £7.99/month. Apart from being expensive, even the second option could be hopeless if you’re on holiday for more than a week without internet access. If you want to download footage, you’re limited to 10 minutes per day. You can pay for a month at a time – no long-term subscription needed. The Netatmo is much more flexible and no costs are involved. When movement is detected, it saves a clip starting a few seconds before detection and continuing until after movement ceases. It saves clips to on-board SD storage and also lets you send them to Dropbox and/or an FTP server such as a NAS drive. Somfy say they are working on a software update for compatibility with external storage but it won’t include pre-recording. ALERTS Both cameras detect motion accurately without false alarms (insects, wind-blown vegetation, etc.), day and night. The Somfy sends useful still clips by email although they sometimes miss the action. Netatmo doesn’t send them at all. The Netatmo is brilliant at differentiating between people, vehicles and animals, rarely getting it wrong. It picks up anything on the ground that’s pigeon-size upwards. You can set different actions for each – ignore, record, alert, floodlight. The Somfy ignores everything except people and vehicles. Both of these cameras send push alerts to my iPhone. The alerts pop up on my Apple Watch too, complete with thumbnail images, but the Netatmo thumbnails are superior – not only sharper but also zoomed in on the cause of the alert. INTERFACES Somfy interfaces with Alexa and Nest. Netatmo doesn’t (yet?) but works with Apple HomeKit. They both support IFTTT. SMART ACTIVATION This is clever. I haven’t come across it before. The Somfy app uses GPS/cellular/wifi to figure out that you’ve left home and remind you to switch motion detection on. The trouble is, you’re probably driving and can’t use your phone. Still, it could be very useful. It prompts you to switch it off when you return. SUPPORT I emailed a few questions and received exceptionally helpful replies, although it did take three days. CONCLUSION If you’ve read this far, you probably won’t be surprised to learn I’d choose the Netatmo for its superior video quality, storage options and app, despite the dreadful physical installation process and absence of speaker and siren. It’s cheaper too. Some of the Somfy shortcomings may be fixed with firmware and app updates but I’m not sure they can improve image quality that way. Sorry Somfy – I wanted to love you but can’t! I’ll award three stars but feel I’m being generous.

Ti avverte dopo 10 minuti se le telecamera non ha più una connessione internet , ottima la sirena integrata da 110db e ottimo anche il fatto di avere un sensore di protezione contro gli urti . Posso consigliare di disabilitare upnp su i modem perché io ho notato problemi con upnp. Ottima anche l integrazione con l allarme somfy. Super soddisfatta

Très bonne caméra wifi, comme vous pouvez le constater sur les photos de captures d'écran de l'entrée de ma maison de jour et de nuit. Facile a installer, l'alimentation est incluse dans la caméra donc un simple fil avec du 220 volts suffit à la brancher. L'angle de prise de vue est vraiment très large et couvre une très grande surface sans aucune déformation de l'image. Mon installation est très stable mais le signal wifi doit être très fort. Donc si comme moi vous installez plusieurs caméras, j'en ai 6 en tout, il faudra aussi installer un réseau de répétiteurs wifi mesh. Si vous n'installez qu'une caméra, le wifi de votre box suffira. Le plus de cette caméra, c'est qu'elle possède une sirène intégrée très bruyante en cas de détection de mouvement. Si il y a une détection, la caméra vous envoie un email avec une photo (voir photo capture d'écran de l'email reçu lors d'une détection de mouvement). A partir de ce moment, vous pourrez ouvrir l'application Somfy, visionner la caméra en direct ou bien la vidéo de 30 secondes de l'évènement enregistrée automatiquement et si il y a quelque chose d'anormal, vous pourrez déclencher la sirène. Pratique car vous gérez la sirène, donc pas de déclenchements intempestifs et pas de gène pour les voisins. J'ai installé les premières sur la façade de ma maison il y a 2 ans et je n'ai jamais rencontré de problème malgré le froid, la pluie ou la chaleur, gros plus, elles sont garanties 5 ans. Grace aux mises à jours régulières qui sont offertes gratuitement, le décallage dont font état certains commentaires n'existe plus. Lors d'un déclenchement de détection, on peut aussitot accéder à la vidéo de 30 secondes enregistrée. Grande précision de l'image et vision nocturne excellente. Très efficace et très fiables. Cela représente tout de même un investissement important mais au vu des performances, le rapport qualité-prix est excellent. ❗️❗️❗️Mise à jour du commentaire après 3 ans d'utilisation, le 15/08/2023. Je tiens à mentionner l'efficacité du service clients et du SAV de Somfy car après 3 ans de fonctionnement la caméra a cessée de fonctionner. J'ai appelé le service client Somfy qui m'a envoyé un bordereau de retour gratuit. J'ai renvoyé ma caméra défectueuse accompagnée de la facture d'achat de chez Amazon et une dizaine de jours plus tard j'en recevais une neuve en échange et en Chronopost. Impressionnant, de par la qualité du service et par la rapidité de traitement. C'est vrai que ce produit est vendu à un prix haut de gamme mais sa qualité est digne de son prix car la caméra a fonctionné 24 heures/ 24 pendant 3 ans supportant chaleur, pluie ou froid contre le mur ou elle était installée. Chose rare, cette caméra est garantie 5 ans et chose encore plus rare, le SAV est très rapide et compétant si elle tombe en panne durant ces 5 ans. Je tenais à vous faire partager mon expérience car je tenais a saluer le sérieux de Somfy. Seul bémol, les appels au service client sont payants et je trouve cela inadmissible quand on achète des produits à un tarif aussi élevé...

ATTENZIONE ALLA CONFIGURAZIONE SE AVETE UN ROUTER TIM technicolor!!ATTIVATE DALL APP DEL ROUTER "upnp" altrimenti la telecamera non funzionerà! Se siete lontani più di 10 metri dal router e avete due o tre muti della casa, che separano il router dalla telecamera,consiglio di acquistare un wifi extender.io ho comprato quello della tp-link.va benissimo
