How do resistance bands/tubes compare to free weights?

there are a lot of pro's and con's to this loaded question. Personally I mainly use the bands mostly, but there are times I also use free weights for specific muscle groups. Why do some colors have a price per count ("$66.00 ($2.64/Count)" but others don't. Are some colors short pieces and others a long roll?

I have no idea why the company wrote the "dollars/count." It probably means something to them. All I know is this brand is excellent and as soon as I need more, I'm ordering from this company again.
