The Ghost Writer Automatic Writing Kit: Messages from Beyond and Magic from Within

Very disappointing! Kit comes with a foam planchette backed by cheap cardboard, and plastic jeweled feet, and a regular cheap ballpoint pen. You could make the planchette yourself at home by cutting a rounded top heart shape out of that rubber craft foam and backing it with cardboard, adding a hole to fit a pencil big enough for it to go through the hole so point touches the paper, and 2 plastic domed jeweled feet for cheaper! Add a pencil/pen and instructions for use from the internet or from a library book. The kit retails for $17.95 US, glad I only pd 1/2 of that! Kit also comes with a soft cover 48 pg basic booklet--that is what you are really paying for. No paper, just a sealed box full of junk. Save yourself the trouble and get instructions to do it using just a simple pen or pencil and the back of a roll of wrapping paper. I thought there would at least be a "planchette" in here. I could have used just pen or pencil as always-- What a rip off!!

I normally love the work of this couple and have their tarot cards and kits.....but this automatic writing kit was a great disappointment to me. It may be something for a total beginner, but it offers nothing really worth paying for for anyone who has ever even tried automatic writing. I guess I was expecting some of their beautiful artwork, a notepad or paper or maybe even the planchette to reflect some of the beauty of their usual work.This kit is a planchette to hold the pen, a pen and a booklet of instruction. The 2 stars are for the book alone as it has some history and some good info about various "readers" and "auto-writers". I was not impressed to read that Monte thinks he is the "best" at what he does. Everyone has incredible gifts and there are many that can share the arena without any one person tooting their own horn. Had someone else written this if might not have hit me the way it did.All in all, I would not have paid full price for this and I am still debating about sending it back unless my daughter or someone I know wants to play with it.Buy their tarot cards and kits! They are worth the investment. Pass this by if you can hold your own pencil/pen.

I ordered this kit purely out of curiosity. When I got it and opened up the box I could not help but laugh. Half a pencil and a foam holder, really? Best $12 I ever spent! I could've gone to Walmart, gotten myself a pencil set and some foam cut-outs and made a "ghost writer kit" myself. The good thing is, the experience teaches you that no matter how dumb and useless the product is, there will always be a chump to buy it. So don't be afraid to come up with a goofy idea of your own, you might end up getting rich off of it.

While I bought this item out of curiosity, I found it to be a gimmick of sorts to make money on something that can be done on one's own with out the "fluff and bunny" type of toy. Automatic writing is NOT a game or something to be used as entertainment, as well as with any kind of spirit communication. Any type of Spirit Communication should be done with the highest respect and humbleness. If spirit communication is used for enlightenment and a tool for the higher good, this gift can be a beautiful way to be open the door to inspiration and comfort.A HUGE THUMBS DOWN... Not even worth one star. Shame the author making this appear to look like a toy just to make money.Cardinal Anna Rose

Very cheaply made

My sister had one of these kits bought for her for Christmas. IT DOES WORK!! I am so taken away with it I ordered one for myself. I have been able to communicate with my mom and my spirit guides with this kit. It is well worth the money and would recommend it to anyone who is in to this type of thing. You wont be disappointed.

Kit? What we have is a book-let, which is less than 40 real pages of Text. Of these 40, part of the space is taken by hokey clip art. The booklet is about 5 inches tall by 5 wide. There is little bibliographic citations or source material. The planchette has a very small hole for the pen. The pen that came with did not write upon first attempt of use, even by hand. So then other pens didn't fit in the hole well. And no paper.So as far as a kit, there is a booklet with minimal 'instructions" , a planchette, a pen that doesn't write, and no paper. Glad I didn't pay retail.

I bought this hoping for something a little more substantial in quality and presentation. The pen included for the planchette was absolutely USELESS, I tried a pencil, same problem and finally ended up trying with a fine tip marker in the end. The planchette is made of cardboard, flimsy, hard to use - it doesn't flow easily across the paper as expected. I must say that having used the old OUIJA boards and the ease with which the planchette graced the board had spoiled me. Sorry Amy, this one isn't as good as it should be or could be.

Bought this and thought at first it wouldn't work but after using it for about 5 minutes it started to move around the writing pad. I am not sure if I contact spirits in the afterlife or it was our unconscious minds but it certainly worked. The only drawback is the pen that was supplied leaked and at times fell out of the planchette but the book is good and informative.

Les commentateurs anglo-saxons ont semblé déçus... j'ai hésité avant d'acheter ce kit (d'autant que je n'avais jamais fait d'écriture automatique).Déjà, le livret est bien fait (attention : en anglais). Il résume bien ce qu'il faut savoir sur le sujet.il est certain qu'on peut "bricoler" une planchette soi-même avec un trou pour le crayon.Mais : l'avantage avec la planchette inclus dans ce kit c'est qu'elle est en un matériau qui s'adapte à tous les diamètres de différents crayons qu'on puisse utiliser! ça c'est cool. (le stylo vendu avec, on s'en fiche un peu, moi en plus il ne marche pas je l'ai jeté, et je préfère écrire au graphite)Ayant l'habitude de la oui-ja, je ne suis pas "dépaysée".Et puis ça marche (il faut, comme pour la oui ja faire beaucoup d'essais et beaucoup de patience).Messages de l'inconscient, de l'inconscient collectif jungien ou autre chose, chacun se fera son opinion.
