The crimping tool is very good and warrants a 5* rating. The crimps produced are very tight and evenly closed. The quality of the crimp depends upon the accuracy with which the connector is positioned in the jaws - and putting it in the right way up! With 1.5mm2 wires considerable force will be required to complete the crimp and automatically release the ratchet - and ensure that the crimp is fully tightened. Some reports show that the tool produces very distorted and ineffective crimps which may be caused by putting the terminal upside-down into the jaws. Unfortunately the instructions are not clear on this point. The gripper "tangs" of the terminal must be placed pointing downwards into the lower jaw (the jaw with a "pip" in the bottom). Whilst the tool is very good, the supplied connectors are rubbish and should not be used - they rate a 0* rating, if it were possible. they are made of 0.25mm brass whereas the best connectors are 0.4mm. The blade on the male connector is also significantly thinner than with a quality part. Also, tinned connectors are to be preferred, especially when used in hot places such as ovens and heaters. The poor quality connectors is reflected in the ease with which the tool can be closed during crimping. It is best not to use those supplied - and for peace of mind throw them away! The buyer is advised to buy this excellent crimping tool on its own and buy good quality plated connectors separately.

This is a great set, at a great price. I needed to connect some wires for an electronics project and the usual block connectors were too big for my requirements. I looked around and decided to try these crimpers. First off they have a decent weight and feel sturdy, so Im hopefull they will last. The slots are clearly marked. The tool locks itself if you part squeeze the handle to just off the maximum and then release. Second the set comes with loads of connectors and better still insulating sleeves which were valuable for my project. The set comes with clear instructions in lots of languages and I simply followed them and the results in the photos speak for themselves. I tested the connection by pulling the wire very hard. It was going no where. The final job looks very neat, professional and more importantly safe.

Very good value for the price, the tool is ueay to use once you understand the orientation of the connectors, I personally found some very good YouTube instuctions on this type of product before commencing the job. The terminals supplied are not the best ( a little on the weak side) - hence 4 stars, other than that the crimper has produced excellent results making up a harness to connect aftermarket ignition coils to the wiring harness on my vintage motorcycle. Overall the product is far better than the price suggests and probably ideal for hobbyist usage.

I had never used a tool like this before. It took a bit of practice to figure out how to insert the connector into the jaws properly. There is a user manual included, but as a man, I don’t usually read those. The tool works great. It's durable and feels solid – you can tell it's made from quality materials.

I had tried using various crimpers to crimp the pins on Deutsch D6 connectors, and even had to resort to soldering and crimping with my other crimpers without much success. On pulling the wire through my vehicle I pulled one of the pins off. So onto Amazon and found these, next day delivery and I went about trying them out on the Deutsch pins, all I can say is WOW they are terrific lovely tight crimps ! They feel really good and strong in the hand and you can see just how sturdily they are built. They came in a nice box together with a great selection of terminals and sleeves. They are a must have in any budding vehicle electronics tool cabinet. No hesitation in recommending these, you will not be disappointed :-)

The kit is OK. The connectors aren't particularly easy to work with and don't look very robust, so best not to use on important jobs. But, for the money, it's OK

I work on motorcycles, and this is one of the most useful tools I have ever bought. Once you work out what way round the terminals go in the jaws, it's easy to do professional-looking wiring jobs.

Purchased with the sole intention of crimping connections on motorcycle wiring. Having purchased a couple of inferior cheaper ones, this tool made the job a breeze. The jaws hold the terminal securely whilst you insert your wire and provide a nice clean crimp. Has a few different settings available depending on the wire gauge you are working with. The ratchet mechanism also ensures you don't overdo it, resulting in a tidy, secure connection. Good build quality gives me the impression that this tool should last a very long time. The quality of the tool, the case and lots of connectors makes this a good deal in my opinion. Wish i'd have picked this up first rather than try to save a couple of quid.
