Coloful birds! Jaguars! Tree frogs! National Geographic presents a delightful, age-appropriate introduction to tropical rain forest creatures big and small in this new title in the popular Little Kids First Big Book series. This adorable animal book about all things jungle features favorite animals found in tropical rain forests. Readers meet jaguars prowling the forest floor, snakes slithering through the understory, red-eyed tree frogs leaping through the canopy, butterflies flitting through the tallest treetops, and many other creatures that inhabit all the different layers. More than 200 charming animal photos illustrate the profiles, with facts about the creatures' sizes, diets, homes, and more. A map of tropical rain forests around the world shows where the animals in the book are found, and the book also introduces readers to plant life. This book will quickly become a favorite at storytime, bedtime, and any time. Review: Excellent Book! - This book is EXCELLENT! I love NG anyways, but this book is incredible! Just Finished And The Kids Loved It
This is a fun book to read - you learn about the four different layers in the rainforest and there's lots of information about various animals that live in each of the different layers. There are lots of pictures to keep the kids entertained and the facts are interesting for toddler-age kids all the way for the adult that likely ends up reading it to the kids. The other books in this "series" are great too. I'd recommend this book and the "series".

Great books for young learners!
I have purchased two of the National Geographic Little Kids First Big Books - this one and the ocean one. My 5 year old grandson loves learning and literally absorbed the information from the first book I purchased about the ocean and now is doing the same with the Rain Forest one. The pictures are colorful and engaging and the information is presented in an easily understood format for young inquisitive minds. He has read these books again and again and again!?!

Fantastic introduction to rainforest animals for a 5 y/o
This book has proven to be the centerpiece of a study of rainforests that I am undertaking with my 5 y/o this fall. We have read the whole thing, cover to cover, and decided to transform our dining room that we use as a classroom into a rainforest. We are crafting and painting pictures of the animals she has chosen from the book, and before we hang each up, she writes a little sign in her own words about the animal/plant. The book has been the cornerstone of the whole project, and the photos have been wonderfully inspiring for our art projects. We definitely have used other books to help us along and go deeper, including In the Rainforest, by Kate Duke, which is also amazing. But this book was the perfect place to start, and when we move on to other subjects, I definitely plan to try to utilize other books in this series.

Fantastic book!
The information and the images are simply out of this world! I have a variety of these books (i.e., bugs, rain forest, the book of "why," etc.) for my grandchildren and keep them readily available so we can go right to them whenever my grandson has a question about anything!

Fantastic book
We love this book! My almost 5 year old son had a week of rainforest work for homeschooling and we really didnโt have any books on rain forests. Not a cheap book but decided to give it a try having read the reviews. Having arrived at 9am, he then spent until 11am glued to the book & keeps going back to it! The pictures are really stunning and there is just the right amount of information on each page to be informative & memorable but not bombard the reader. Great little fact file about each of the animals & nice and interactive, asking questions to the reader. My only negative is that I found the American spelling of โcolorโ rather than colour, but I can forgive that as itโs such a great book! Worth every penny!
