Needed something like this to keep a furnace condensate drain line from freezing. The drain is a clear flexible plastic tubing and I was worried about too much heat and damage, but this is the perfect fix. It keeps the line at a nice temperature and with a small amount of wattage used and is warm to the touch. Not excessive . I enclosed the drain line and the heater line in a foam type insulation and it works well. The automatic thermostat has worked perfectly so far. Nice to have peace of mind knowing the line won’t freeze up anymore. This unit looks and feels well made for the price.

Used to the pipes on our external tankless heater though the last winter blast / ice storm. Tested in a bowl of ice, worked great. Easy to install, I appreciated it came with the proper tape. Pipes have frozen in the past but didn't this time. Might update my review later depending on how long the product lasts since it's only been on for a couple of months, but no complaints right now.

I think that the product is working. It was a little stiff to wrap around the pipe and I would not have felt comfortable rapping it back on itself in the pipe, but overall I got the job done well. If it keeps my pipes from bursting, I am very happy. However, there are two things that I'm not very happy with pertaining to this product. Since they don't want you to use an extension cord, it makes it nearly impossible to plug this in without having an outlet right near the water pipes. I doubt that Outlets are supposed to be located that close to water pipes. I know my outlet isn't. The cord should be longer. The other thing that is annoying is that when you plug this in, a light stays on continuously. Yes, you know power is going to this item. However, my previous pipe tape light only lit when the pipe tape was actually heating the pipes. I would much rather know it's in operation and has power, then know ONLY that power is going to the item. I do wonder how long this light will last...

This heat tape really works. I have a basement sub pump. On the outside hose I wrapped it around it and in 0 degree weather the water did not freeze when discharging the water. Worth the money.

I decided to get a cable heater as temp had been less than 20 degrees lately and I have a out door water pipe(3/4)/faucet that is insulated but I am afraid it will pop eventurally as temp will drop even more which is rare where I live. it is definitely frozen solid now and after installing this heater, I tried to open the faucet next day and water begains to flow, I have peace of mind knowing this pipe/faucet will be safe from bursting now.

I am so impressed with this heat trace. My pipes froze from snowpocalypse 2026, so I bought this praying it would work. Within 10 minutes of installation my water was running again. We had no water for 3 days so this was a total life saver. Great value for the price. We wrapped insulation around the heat trace so it would hold the heat in, which has worked very well. I didn't even know this existed until I started researching how to keep my pipes from freezing. Amazing !!

I've been using these for over a month now, and they are holding up well. I like how the plug lights up, so you know they are still working. It's an easy way to check. I've wrapped these under insulation tape, which was an easy process as well. As long as you dont spread the wraps too far, they'll keep your water from freezing no problem at all!
