This was a Christmas gift from my husband. I wanted a black mortar and pestle. This one, though it says black, is more of a dark charcoal grey. Still very pretty. I use it to blend and grind spices and seasonings while cooking. It serves it purpose well and cleans up easily.

It is very attractive, decorative even, and compliments our granite kitchen countertop. This mortar and pestle is nice and heavy but not too heavy. It works wonderfully for grinding herbs, spices or medications for my friends feeding tube. It is pharmaceutical grade as marble doesn't absorb the medication. I would recommend this to anyone in need of grinding or crushing materials.

This black marble mortar and pestle is very attractive. The picture makes it look solid black, but it has some gray grain that looks very nice. The end of the pestle is rough for good grinding. I use it for supplements and it works very well. It is quite solid and heavy with a solid base.

Bought as a gift for our "foodie" daughter and she loves it. It is heavy in weight and a good size, also beautiful in color.She was excited to receive it and now I want one!
