Not really "extremely bright", but they're just fine.
I've had MUCH brighter LED lights that have caused many oncoming drivers to flash their high beams at me and that indicated that they were FAR too bright. These are definitely dimmer than the others I've tried. That's a good thing. No one has flashed their high beams at me with these which tells me they're not blinding oncoming drivers. They're quite adequate and have really nice side illumination. I feel my safety in driving at night has been significantly improved with these.
