Sangean ATS-909X AM/FM/LW/SW World Band Receiver (Renewed)

Like I posted in other review for this radio it’s a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. Top notch radio with slew if featured and ssb can’t be beat. Good buy one of best radios out there.

I have been a radio enthusiast for over 35 years and have operated many radios including ham equipment. This is a great radio, excellent FM and AM reception, better than any radio I have heard. With shortwave, you need an external antenna for listenable experience. This Sangean ATS-909x excells with an external antenna. I bought 2 of these and I will keep one in safe keeping.

Add sync and improve MW performance-I have to use an external loop-and it'll be a winner. Very pleasing, fatigue-free audio; can listen for hours. Sloped volume control is an ergonomic nightmare-needs a rubberized grip or a different knob for fat fingers.Performance on whip improved when plugged in, negative side of power brick probably works as a counterpoise.All in all, a keeper. 👍

I bought the radio with hopes that it would have excellent shortwave reception. The truth is that it has horrible shortwave reception because it has no built-in shortwave antenna. You have to run this large spool of wire all over the room to get any reception and even then the reception is very weak. The sound and reception for FM and AM is great but don't buy it as a shortwave radio.
