Totally Boogie-Woogie The ultimate guide to leaning how to play authentic boogie-woogie piano. This comprehensive book includes everything you need to get started. Basic structure and timing. Left-hand bass patterns. Walking bass. Right-hand riffs. Chords and scales. Turnarounds and endings. With additional chapters on practicing methods, how to play by ear and transposing keys, along with plenty of general information and advice. Everything a pianist needs to start in this timeless piano style. Review: A clear, uncomplicated lesson in how to play in the style. - This is a must have book for any pianist as it introduces this style of music in a clear and simplistic way thereby removing some of the frustrations that teaching yourself can bring. The author gives a brief and interesting history and personal experience of being introduced to this music and is able to open up the world of Boogie Woogie to experienced and inexperienced musicians alike by showing the skills and basics required. The book focuses on each element, such as the feel of the music, the left hand with various bass lines and the right hand separately: for me when learning a new skill, concentrating on one thing at a time is more likely to lead to success. This book expertly explains how to play in the Boogie Woogie style and gives you the techniques needed to then experiment and be free to improvise, which is an important part of this style of music. I thoroughly recommend this book as it has inspired me to play even more for enjoyment. Review: Good helpful book - Good book, nice authentic stuff, basslines section especially helpful to me.

The one book you require.
For beginners wanting to get to the intermediate level, this is the only book you need. Left hand bass lines and turn arounds, right hand scales, chords, trills, riffs, and endings.
