It works for the price
Pros: This serves my purposes as a wool puddle pad to protect my mattress when cosleeping, floor when doing nakey tummy time, and occasionally using it as a changing pad when my actual changing pads are both in the wash. I like the size a lot- it is large enough to thoroughly protect whatever area you use it on from mess. I haven't had any leaking issues either, it holds urine well just like it should after washing and lanolinizing.Cons: It is so scratchy. My son won't have nakey tummy time on it unless I protect his little penis with another blanket because the wool is so scratchy and hurts him. His face gets red from where it rests on the wool, too. I never put him directly on this pad, which defeats a lot of the conscience of this product. It is not high quality wool- but the price was right and you can't expect this large of a piece of nice merino wool or something for under $40 so I am satisfied with my purchase overall.

I was initially going to return this product due to it being torn in a corner seam. I mean it's pricey in my opinion to have a defect like that. So time passed and it just sat in a box not being used until 1 day I decided to use it when the changing pad was not available. It is not the softest material but definitely works. Just like the picture shows of the product, mine did repel the puddle. I did pre-wash with the lanolin wash prior to using and air dried. I'm giving 3 stars simply because of the tare.

Good but rough texture
It's nice & thin, a good size for a changing table or bassinet, but it's very rough. Not something you would put your baby on directly, but maybe under a cloth or mattress sheet. I was hoping to use this as a puddle pad directly on the changing table, but it's way too rough... will have to use it as the bassinet liner under the sheet.

Protects from dampness yes, puddles no
After treating it a few times with Lanolin and using wool wash only when it gets dirty, we can say that it prevents dampness from seeping out of the diaper and into the mattress, but if there is even a small puddle of pee, any pressure will cause the wetness to push through at that spot. Another thing is that it's been hard to kee the sheet flat under our wriggly 6 month old baby, if it was thicker or had some liner underneath that caused it to stay flat it would be better.

Loved It So Much I Bought a Second!
We are co-sleeping with my three month old to more easily accommodate breast feeding. My son has the amazing ability to pee up his own back, even when wearing a diaper. He's also an avid spitter-upper. Now, the Lamby sleeps under us. It covers from my hip to just under my shoulder. I am 5'6". The material is a little rough, so I make sure my son has a swaddle and I sleep in an open robe. Whether it's spit up or tinkle, the pad absorbs it quickly. If I get up to change a swaddle or diaper, the pad is always dry by the time we lay back down. We're doing Elimination Communication, so I also use this to give my son diaper free time every day. This pad perfectly suits my needs, so I ordered a second one. I will likely end up ordering a third.FYI- it will shrink a little, even if you follow the cleaning directions. Please see photo for comparison between original pad and the second that I ordered. This is placed on our king sized bed.

Highly recommend!
This has been a life-saver! We are currently bed sharing with our 1 mo old and for the first week, I had to change the sheets every day. Between her spitting up or her diaper leaking, I had to balance us on a burp rag all night or there would be a mess. This mat is big enough to cover the area from my shoulders to my hips, thus covering the whole area where she lays. The best part is that the mat is breathable and not plastic backed to make us both over heat. It has held, with out absorbing, any mess that she has made on it. The only draw back is that the wool is naturally 'scratchy', so I made a few covers for it out of cotton, but if you could find a large enough pillowcase that would work great too. A must have for bed sharing or anywhere your baby sleeps!

Didn't work
Did not work when our toddler wet the bed. Soaked right through.

Great quality
I use these puddle pads in my baby hammock and over my ottoman as a makeshift changing area. They work very well-- I really like it as a changing pad because it's not cold like my other changing pad, and much of the time I can wipe mess off of it before it soaks in.
