Legare 31-Inch Peninsula

The bad:Bought 4 different pieces of furniture. Awesome design. But the finish is not consistent. Very different tones, probably due to different batches of bamboo. Some light and very few connection nodes, extremely well polished and no clear lacquer that I can detect. The others sharper corners, much rougher, completely different finish (I guess newer batch), strong smell of lacquer. Some small dents (that can be hidden due to reversibility of the panels) obviously did not come from transportation. More likely from handling at the origin. Now I have a desk and 2 extensions in 3 different shades. I understand the concept of natural variation in the bamboo fiber, but this is way off. Sorry, that costs 2 stars in my view. It's a shame when you design a beautiful product and then you can't keep up the quality.The good:looks sturdy, very easy to put together (just make sure you know what configuration you want, otherwise you have to take it apart almost completely to change the height of a shelf).Modern, unique design. Haven't seen anything similar online.Price was not bad through Amazon, much cheaper than via the manufacturer's website.Ships directly from Legare via ABF; make sure you inspect the boxes before signing.Overall I don't regret the acquisition. Hopefully it will last at least a few years with no serious damage to the finish from regular wear.

OK first things first. I am currently using this "add on" as a desk until I have finished flooring and put the 60x47 together, I will then link it with that desk.As the specs state this is a toolless install, install does in fact take 2-3 minutes once you have unpacked and unwrapped everything from the box. It is quite solid, everything fits together well and it is sturdy! I very much like how the peninsula can be "flipped" and face either direction.Shipping was fast. It was well packaged.It looks fantastic!I would certainly recommend this to a friend.

It just arrived and it is gorgeous. Very heavy, solid and beautiful finish. I am using this with the corner desk (which has not arrived yet) in a retail setting. The set up will be more like a receptionist desk and will hide all wires and cables perfectly.I think this will last a long time. Easy to put together, less than 10 minutes.

Wish I had more room in my home office for additional pieces of this project. Easy to put together. Sturdy upon completion. Excellent, professional look. Would buy again in a heartbeat. It didn't fit snugly against the corner desk as anticipated but that could be because it is sitting on carpet or because I didn't not include the joiner which came with the peninsula (instructions about the joiner were a little unclear).

I truly appreciate the Legare system of desks. It is well engineered, aesthetically attractive, affordable and very flexible. The only downside is how easily the surface is dented if you drop something hard on it. Well, nothing is perfect, but I would recommend Legare.

Well packaged! At 78, I put it together by myself and set it up with the larger desk. Kind of have to get used to the Lego style look of it, but it is sturdy and holds my serger with the sewing machine on the larger desk. It doesn't wriggle when using the machines. I'm very pleased with these substitutes for actual sewing tables created just for sewing which were lost in one of the California wild fires and which I can not afford to replace.
