Good collection my 9 year old have a love for reading and she also loves the collection

Waaaaaaaaaaaay more engaging, and dramatic then the first 3!Brian Chick is one of the best writers I know. That's a fact. His books are, engaging, relatable(kind of), funny, and most of all, fun! This series is great and I highly recommend these books! Probably for ages 10-13. Some of the parts were a bit scary, like the part where they are describing De-graph or whatever his name is. That is a little disturbing I must admit, he has no nose, just slits, (sound familiar?) His teeth are rotten and falling out, he has a deep cut in his skin where bugs crawl out of, and on top of all that, apparently should be dead, so he has NO eyes and his skin looks like "baggy sacks"!!!😭😱😵 Usually Brian describes things well! He did. But it is VERY disturbing, and gives nightmares! I still love this series and am going to buy the next 2 books soon😁

My grandson enjoyed the whole series. He is 9 and an avid reader. He read each book quickly and couldn't wait for the next one to arrive. Highly recommend!!

My daughter and I read this series together and she cried when we finished. Not because it ended sadly (although it was a bit bitter sweet) but because she didn't want to say goodbye to the characters that had become like friends. So, we have vowed to reread the series each year.

Best book series ever for young readers! My son was not wanting to expand his reading beyond picture books until I bought this one! We would read 3 or so chapters every night and then it was the whole family getting into it! And when my husband was out of town we'd read it together over video call! My son is 7 and we all loved this book series!

We read this as a bedtime story for my 7 and 9 year old. It seemed innocent enough at the beginning it gradually got a bit more intense, scary and even gruesome in spots. We considered stopping but by that time we were engaged in the story and decided to continue. It was a very intriguing story line and kept us wanting more. We are excited to read the next book in the series.

9yo niece loves these books. She said: "Sometimes it's kind of dark or scary, but not for long & I guess it wouldn't be an adventure if it wasn't that way a little bit? I just really like them!"

I have grown to really love this series. I read to my 9 year old son everyday and I work hard to find books that we can both enjoy. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series which will be coming out summer 2013. Great characters (no snotty, vulgar or mean characters), lots of excitement (but not too complicated or scary). Good series like these are VERY HARD to find!

This whole series is beautifully written. I read these with my 10 year old grandson. The language is more than competent and less than too sophisticated. The stories all move along beautiful. Great visual description. Lots of action. Lots of suspense.
