What is the merv rating

Whats the best material to not put strain on the hvac system? also what merv will allow good air quality and not overload or overwork my hvac?

I think I understand your question because we had a repair to our central A/C unit this summer and the repair technician suggested to us that the MERV 12 filters that the previous owner had been using were putting too much strain on our system. He suggested that we come down to these MERV 5 filters, but change them more frequently, which we have done.

Are these UV resistant?

Thank you for asking. No. If you are having a UV light installed into your system the light should not be able to reach this filter. If you have a UV light already installed and it is near the filter intake, we do not recommend using Filtrete Filters.

The product description lists 2 sizes- 14x24x1 in large font and 14x14x1 in small font. Which size will I receive? What are the actual dimensions?
