My display says now on it - what does this mean ? we've had no rain yet to test it

When it starts to rain the three dots above the diagram indicator on the right will start to flash. This indicates that it has started to rain. It will continue to flash as long as the rain continues. By bringing up the NOW screen (press rain button at back) it will tell you how much rain has fallen or just fallen at that point If the rain stops for 30 mins the reading will go back to zero. It is therefore an indication of how much rain has fallen in one go regardless of how long it takes. Hope this is helpful- RON.

Can the readings be trusted as accurate & can it do a midnight to midnight daily reading in isolation, rather than a rolling 24 hour one?

I think is is a rolling 24 hours. Similarly with the week month and year. Last week when the heavy rain was recorded it initially showed 56mm and the following day it said something like 18mm. I find it matches an old fashioned measuring gouge type pretty well.

Very short battery life in the transmitte using duracell batteries, the first time i used them they lasted 4/5 months: what could be the problem? help

Maybe fake batteries, there are a lot around ! I like Energizer batteries best. Last around 8-10 months.

How long do the batteries last in these ?

The rain gauge outside the batteries lasted about six months but inside I have not changed them yet I put them in 18 months
