Amazing light!
I have two now and I’m probably going to get more for my other tanks as well! I also just bought the clips for them so that’ll be even cooler. I like the timer aspect and the screen. I’ve dropped it in water and still works perfectly. I feel the settings are fairly simple and straight forward. Overall great light lights my tank well and grows my plants too! I can’t wait to get more.

Fantastic light, poor instructions, super deal though
I own the 24-30" version. Read and watched many reviews before purchasing. It is a great light with a PAR rating of 140 at 12" deep so red plants will appreciate this. I have a fluorescent Penplex hood and light. Just removed the old light and it was a direct fit with the new LED light. Now I have a great looking older hood with a lower profile look. After only a week of use, my plants are already showing drastic new growth. Out of the box, it defaults to the sun up to sun down timer function, where it starts out dim and grows to a full noon sunlight, and then ramps down to sun down. You just have to set your local time. Very natural for the fish and plants. Instructions included are terrible if you want to customize it. HOWEVER, send the seller a message about the bad manual, and they will send you a functional, English speaking fantastic manual via email. Quite happy. Purchase after purchase, I am pleased with Hygger products.

In some ways better than the 978, in some ways, not.
I got this to replace a model 978 light aftering reading the seller's comments that the 957 was better for growing live plants due to its higher wattage output.Pros: Timer is easier to adjust, easier to temporarily adjust light intensity, higher wattage than the 978 should be better for 'live' plants.Cons: Doesn't have as many LED's as the 978 and its light doesn't gradually ramp up as smoothly or as nicely as the 978 model. The 978 has a nice orange glow in the early morning and smoothly ramps up through the morning into full brightness during the day, and then down into the night going to blue moon light. The 957 doesn't have the orange led's and it's light increases/decreases in a steppy manner as it gets brighter once it turns on at 6:30am and then down into the night. At the end of the day, the daylight just pops off and the blue moon light comes on. Not a pleasant transition like the 978.If you don't have live plants, I suggest the 978 model

They Say You Have To Spend Big...
I have purchased several of these lights. Mostly because they are full spectrum, and the cost is awesome. Depending on who you talk to in the aquarium realm, most will tell you that you have to spend a lot of money on lights...It's just simply not true. I have 7 freshwater tanks, 6 of them are planted tanks and these lights do everything I need them to. I have not had a single issue. I am able to grow just about anything. I can get the reds out of certain plants which is supposed to be a hard thing to do. The only thing I have struggled with are carpeting plants but only in my 120g. That is because it's a very tall tank. I'm sure I could do it by moving things around but it's not a huge priority for me. I also love the full day auto change and auto off feature of these lights. It's super cool to watch it go from sunrise to sunset...very cool!

One I had to return
I've already sent back the last one I'd ordered & it appears the replacement is "delayed" again. Which means, from my experience, that it won't get here at all. This order has two other items we really needed. However, for this particular review, I gave the Hygger light three stars only because I've ordered - sheesh - I forget now! About SIX or so of them? And thus far, I've had 2 that work *perfectly*. So, for those 2, I'd be happy to give it 5 stars, but this is for the last one I ordered.I understand they cannot touch the water, much less be *in* the water. But, with the included bracket to hang it on the tank, they must be too low, because the moisture from the tank manages to get to *the light*. That's the only explanation I have for why the ones I sent back may have stopped working. In this one, in *this* review, some of the lights when changed to single colors simply didn't light up anymore. When I looked at the bottom of it, it had drops of water on it. So I cleaned the clear plastic undercover and what'd'ya know? There were moisture spots *inside* it. It was still within the time allowed to return it, so I did.I also believe this could be easily prevented by the manufacturer if they'd simply seal the area where the clear light cover meets the black casing. If yours stops working due to this defect after the return time limit is up, you're out of luck. But, because I've had two that haven't had a problem, & I *love* those two, I figured it was hit or miss with these lights & ordered a new one hoping for another hit. Now the delivery day keeps getting bumped forward. I've had that happen with other orders. They say if it doesn't arrive by tomorrow, I can get a refund (?!?!) I don't *want* a refund, I want my light! My advice, from my "new" experience in ordering things that are "delayed" a long time, then end up never being delivered at all, is to choose the option of having it delivered to an Amazon drop off place. That is, if you live close enough to one to make it feasible. We happen to have one that's almost as close as our mailing address (a P.O. box in a nearby post office) that it's no big deal.I guess this is a "double" review. One is for the product. When it works, it's great. The other is for delivery. Although in the past, I've had no problem getting orders to my P.O. box, from Amazon, now it appears it's also hit or miss whether you'll get your order or not. So far, every "delay" has ended up with "undelivered & refunded". No more orders unless they go to an Amazon locker! What's the problem with this light, Hygger? Are they made to be intentionally obsolete after the return time runs out? What's the problem, Amazon? If orders are tracked to a certain nearby post office, but then for some reason, never make it the 15 miles to *our* post office, why aren't you trying to find out if a postal employee or someone else is *stealing* them?! They have *tracking numbers* on them! It shouldn't be that difficult to find out what's going on at the last tracking location that's causing orders to simply disappear into thin air! It was ordered on February 2, shipped on February 3, received at last post office near us on February 6, and has been being "processed" there up until February 9. Now the delivery date has been changed to tomorrow (February 14) from the original February 10 or 11. Again, past experience is that it is plain gone.

Great Customer Service!
I used this product on my 20 gallon aquarium. It worked amazingly, and the timer feature was easy to use, even the DIY mode. It still worked even when it briefly fell into the water (not the power adapter side). However, the light started to malfunction ~3 months after I bought it. But, the hygger customer service team was on it! I got Luna, who was super kind, helpful, and understanding. They helped me figure out that the issue was with the power adapter, and are sending me one now! They always responded within a day, and were understanding and generous. Only issue is that the PPFD of the light is not provided.
