Durable and versatile. This can be used at different angles and I've already washed it.
This buffing ball sure saved my shoulder when I waxed my table saw. Like others have pointed out. This buffing ball will throw out some threads. However, it happens when you first use it and if you buff your hand, you can probably get rid of most of the threads even before you touch the item you are working on. After the initial break in, it did throw some threads but that was when I caught a corner or square edge and the buffing ball was catching on the table edges. You can use this ball at different angles including straight up and down. There is enough cotton padding that you aren't in danger of hitting your car, boat, or table saw with the threads of the shank. After I finished waxing the tablesaw, I threw the buffing ball into a garment bag and into the washing machine. It came out in great shape and I dried it on a laundry rack. The ball itself is soft but firm and is still the same after being washed. I was using Collinite Paste Fleetwax 12 Oz 885 as the wax. I found that if I did an initial buff with rags to get the excess wax off, the buffing ball stays cleaner and works better. It also stays cleaner and doesn't need to be washed as frequently. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because of throwing threads, but that is a very minor issue.Pros:Works wellSoft but firmWorks in many angles, including straight up and downEasily cleanedDurable and is ready to be reused after being washed and driedinexpensiveEasy to useCons:I couldn't tell if the shank comes off for cleaningThrows threads when you first use it and whenever your catch the buffing ball on an edgeAppears to be a bit small to use on a car or boat

Complete junk! Should be zero stars -See picture and you'll agree!
Perhaps mine was defective as I can't imagine anyone rating this more than 2 stars!I debated between buying an actual buffer for my car and a few different version of these still attachment buffers. Generally I'm a car wash guy and only needed this for some stubborn sap that the local car wash wouldn't get out so decided to go with this one based the fact that I didn't imagine it would get much use.It arrived, grabbed my drill and some auto compound; squirted it on and started the process. After less than two minutes I immediately noticed THE FIRST FLAW being that this thing shed. I stopped and inspected it to make sure there was nothing exposed that could scratch my car.OK fine, it looked suitable so I kept going. I figured so long as it got the job done and removed the sap I'd think of it as a one time single use product and move on without much care. Then THE SECOND ISSUE, the cotton ball popped right off! The screw literally snapped! SEE PICTURE! Literally the screw snapped right off....Cheap as can be!

Buffing head lights
I use this to polish head light plastic lenses with a find polishing bar. It works great, but do start with 400, then 1200, then 3000 grit wet sand paper in steps, and use the polish and buffing ball last. Make lots of friends by doing their head light lenses. Do them on any car before you sell it. It will add to the value.

Well made product that works extremely well for buffing and polishing.
Well made product that works extremely well for buffing and polishing. I would suggest starting at a slower speed with drill or cordless screwdriver if using polish. Well satisfied with purchase.
