These water test strips - also called dip test strips - test 6 different values in the water. They can be used for any water, such as in hot tubs, pools, aquariums or even drinking water.

Hot Tub test strips
I bought these strips as they looked to be more economical than those I've previously used. I am mostly interested in the free chlorine and Ph level.I have found the free chlorine test square(s) to be difficult to read or be confident about as the square indicating what I think is the measured ppm level is not the same as the accompanying chart and is also much darker around the edges. Therefore I'm not sure if it's 1ppm or 9ppm, although it's the 1ppm square that reacts. Based on the chlorine smell given off from the hot tub I would guess that the free chlorine would be around 3-5 ppm (from previous experience). That is why my confidence in these strips is shaky. I may have to revert to the previous strips I used, as I'd rather be sure of the water quality than use a cheaper product where I am not so sure. The other parameters are more easily read and tie in with the colour chart on the bottle.

Quick, precise and easy to use!
This pH test paper allows you to accurately test the pH of various substances including Chlorine and 5 other factors. The strips change colour within seconds and are then matched with the pH scale colour chart included, the number next to the color on the chart is your pH. It’s a very simple process and so easy to use! I use these myself and can highly recommend them. There is 100 in one packet…great value for money.

PH reading doesn’t work on my strips.
The PH reading on my strips doesn’t move and in trusting these readings caused me to put far too much PH plus in my tub to try to get the levels correct. It wasn’t until I tried a strip in the diluted PH plus which still showed a low level I knew they were bad strips. They always show orange and don’t go anywhere near the green colour as stated on the tub. A digital meter confirmed I’d taken my tub to 9.6 so now throwing PH minus in to lower the level again. I’ve bought some alternative strips which again confirm these are wrong as they read the same as the digi meter. The chlorine, Acid and Alkiline readings are correct hence the 2 stars and not 1. Maybe a dodgy batch but I wouldn’t risk it.

Not particularly user friendly
These do work, but unlike previous ones i've bought, they don't show on the bottle, the levels of ph and chlorine you need your tub/pool to be to compare the strip to once you have put it in your tub/pool. So i had to go online to search what the levels should be and circle this on the relevant colour on the bottle. Previous strips i've purchased have shown the range of colours from low to high levels and which are correct for tub/pools, so you can use this as a guide when testing.

Not easy to read !
Calibration is in degrees ,not a simple colour coding ,making them difficult and slow to use .

Difficult to match with colour chart
They provide a colour chart on the container but I found that the colours on the strips did not correctly match the chart. Therefore not possible to tell whether chemical levels were correct or not. Many better strips available elsewhere.

Good purchase
I bought these to test our hot tub water, just to be on the safe side. Package has 100 pcs, and marks 6 different factors, just right for me. Instructions are clear and reslults pretty fast, only waiting 20 secs.
