1 X Wickman 12" Pewter Butane Torch - Candle Accessories Gift - WL01-WICK

I bought this item in spite of the negative reviews and I'm glad I took a chance or I would have missed out on a nice item. I received the item promptly and it was nicely packaged and would look nice if given as a gift. It came already filled so I was able to use it right out of the box. It looks very stylish and I'll definitely leave it out. It feels nice in my hand, looks attractive, and appears to be well-made. I had no problem with the lever and the lighter lit the first time. I like that it is refillable and has an adjustable flame.I had previously purchased the Zippo mini lighter but I found it hard to operate as you must press a button while pushing the lever. However, the main drawback of the Zippo was its short length; it was of limited use to me as it was not long enough to reach many of the wicks I wanted to light, such as those in some Wolfard oil lamps I use. The length of the Wickman makes it ideal for almost any type of candle or oil lamp I want to light.Finally, the price on Amazon was very good. Compared to lighters costing 3 times as much or more, this lighter is definitely a good value.So,give the Wickman a try and don't be turned away by some of the negative reviews. I'm happy with my purchase!

I agree with several posts that the ignite button on this is hard to push, but I was able to push it without a problem, so if you have very little arm strength (if you have trouble twisting lids off of jars) then this isn't for you. I loved the look of it, but mine wouldn't refill. I followed the instructions and turned it over and put the butane refill on it but the butane just squirted out. The lighter was clearly empty so that wasn't the issue. I'm returning it and will look for another. I'm disappointed because I like the appearance and how sturdy it feels, but I need it to light, not just to look pretty.

Everyone's reviews are pretty spot on. Nice design, not efficient ergonomic use. Girlfriend has difficulty lighting the lighter. Personally I do not however. The flame is not large or strong. On full strength it is low. It does look nice and is pretty big. Has a good weight to it. It is not a torch lighter but just a regular flame. Not sure why it says torch.

I like the adjustments of the flame and that one can refill it, The only problem I found is that using the switch is a little difficult, if you dont have strong fingers or a dexterity problem then this is not for you . Otherwise its a good product.

This item is much larger than I thought. It is a beautiful piece, but wow! It is similar to a large candle stick - guess I should have read the size. However, like I said beautiful piece, it is heavy, and works perfectly.

I am enjoying this product much better than the less expensive ones that break easily. It's easy to use and appears easy to refill. I have had it less than a week so I haven't had to refill yet. I think it would be a nice thoughtful gift for the candle lover in your life--even if that is you!

I own several Wickman products that I bought pretty much all at the same time. I bought two of the lighters and one works fine and the other has never worked properly. I can't seem to find a way to send a message to the Amazon seller I bought them from, Wink. So I went to the actual Wickman company. The person who helped me whose name is on the homepage of the Wickman website was very indifferent to helping me try to figure out how to get my lighter in better working condition. He didn't really read my emails properly and then would give me repetitive information. Kept telling me to do the same troubleshooting over and over again and when I asked if there was a way to replace this brand new lighter he told me his own company can't send me a new one because they don't do retail and stopped responding to my emails. I even went so far as to take my lighter to someone who worked with it and said the valve to fill the lighter was not working properly. So I got a lemon and no one from either company is willing to take responsibility for it. Although I love my working Wickman products my experience with this company has made me never want to order anything from Wickman or Wink again. Everyone gets a lemon from time to time. It feels really awful when no one wants to help you. The worst customer service.

I had trouble getting it to light. When I looked closely at the end, the flutes in the metal to let air in around the flame (and help it light) were partially covered with metal (left over from the stamping process). There are three flutes on the tip, and two on the bottom (all on the 'flame' end) - if they are not clear it will not light easily. I used a small file to clear them out and now it works just fine. I was going to send it back until I saw this and was able to easily fix it, but still only rate it a 2 because this is something the manufacturer should take care of!
