Finding it hard to source ORGANIC brown lentils I was absolutely THRILLED to find them on here! Yes, they are more expensive than the "regular" ones you can purchase from your local grocery store but after reading how much chemical sprays non-organic lentils receive I was determined to make the switch. LOVE these! When cooked, they keep their shape i.e. do not go all mushy. We have a large family so I use these to "pad" out our grass fed beef. I have found that one cup of raw lentils cooked is equivalent to 1lb of ground beef. I cook the one cup of raw lentils with approximately 2 to 2 1/2 cups of water, salt and rubbed sage. Once cooked I add them to the main meal with whatever other seasonings the recipe calls for. No one complains that they are not getting enough meat! I purchased these at the full prevailing price.
