Unrepentant: The Strange and (Sometimes) Terrible Life of Lorne Campbell, Satan's Choice and Hells Angels Biker

Honestly it is an interesting story. We follow the life of Lorne Campbell, a Canadian biker of the Satan's Choice MC, who later becomes a Hells Angel. He tells about his childhood, his youth and we follow him all the way up to his retirement. He is a tough guy, but given his abusive father who beat him constantly, there is not much to fear.It is a fascinating story, but its based on interviews and police reports, so I found it a little heavy to read. That's why I'm only rating this three stars. The stories of Campbell's and the people he meet are scary, weird and sometimes hilarious. I would recommend it, if you want an inside peek into the life of a hardcore biker. But like I've written, it is a little heavy to read.

Great reading!
Good to read about old school respect for the biker brotherhood. Lorne was/is the real deal and we should should all take a lesson from him on how to be a stand-up guy. He's forgot more about being a biker than most of us will ever know.

Enjoyed reading the book as these characters led a different life and the punishment if they screwed up was sometimes harsh. Did like the fact that Mr. Campbell was old school in his ways and thinking which would have made him a good friend.

Two Thumbs Up. Great read
Fantastic book. Many outlaw motorcycle books try to sway you in a direction.i found this book to be straightforward and honest. The book is a great story and the author isnt telling to snitch and make money. I would read again, I would recommend.

unrepentant
I bought this book for my husband who has always been fascinated with the biker culture. My husband says this book is "one hell of a ride." In other words a good read. If you love the feel of riding a cycle and the freedom of the open road (and some bad-ass dudes) then this book will take you, the reader, where only bikers dare to go.

This is a great book about brotherhood
This is a great book about brotherhood. Despite the breaking of the law Lorne Campell is everything a man should be..."Good to his family, good to his friends and loyal." -Lorne Campell

Terrific read
A great read for any true biker. Lorne Campbell is a guy who tells it how it is and doesn't pull any punches. When you finish this book you will have nothing but respect for Lorne a guy who stands by his beliefs.

Yawn...
I bought this book thinking it would be filled with gripping stories of the outlaw biker life. The author should stick to writing newspaper style articles as this is exactly what this entire book read like. The quotes from Lorne Campbell make him sound like a uninteresting one or two word responder... I couldn’t wait for it to end just so I could start reading a book with some energy and personality. I think he definitely had an interesting life story but this author was not able to capture it. The timeline jumps all over the place and it felt like the author was just trying unsuccessfully to fit in Lorne’s ramblings in some chronological order. Two thumbs down.

An exact copy of Satan's Choice by same author. Other than cover no difference.
The story itself was very good BUT this book and the other book written by Edwards(Satan's Choice)) are exactly the same other than the cover and name. The pages are exactly the same, same numbering, same info, in both books as are the Chapter names. A complete rip-off by Edwards and Amazon.

Absolutely Great Reading.
A great read, and well written with no holds barred ( no pun intended ) book !! I had already read Mick Lowe's book " Conspiracy Of Brothers " no less than 5 times, and am happy to note that Peter Edwards does not constantly dwell on the subject of the Bill Matiyek affair. If a prospective reader of " Unrepentant " feels that they cannot handle a look at what goes on in the real world,.. I suggest you don't read the book. After reading the book, many readers are going to make up their own minds about Lorne Campbell, my own personal opinion is,..Lorne Campbell is a self made man, and is right up there with all of the " Port Hope Eight ", in being one of the most solid persons I have ever read about ( ever ), never detoured from meeting personal problems head on,..and has definitely paid his dues like a man. Good luck to you Lorne Campbell,..always. Thank You Peter Edwards for a great read,..excellent book !!

Good Reading but less than truthful in the sense of "True Crime"
Lorne appears to be telling a story to make himself look good. Good reading for sure but this is not as objective as it seems as Lorne C. is not all that he appears - if you talk with people who have been associated with him... book is not as credible as it could be. Still, interesting reading as insight into motorcycle clubs.
