Works great on double pane windows
I live on the sixth floor and have two double pane hurricane windows I can only partially clean from inside. I took a chance on this cleaner and was happily surprised. It's easy to use once you get the hang of it, and it cleans very well with just water and a small amount of dish soap. The outside half only fell once when I was moving a bit too fast and turning it, and the safety rope caught it with no problem. They make them in different magnetic strengths for different widths; make sure you buy the correct one.

No instructions!!!
There were absolutely no instructions with this thing. When I tried it with the little plastic spacer in between it fell apart. Then I thought I needed to take the spacer out so I did. Unfortunately, the two sides got a little too close together and closed on two of my fingers. I had kept telling myself to keep my fingers away from the sides, but once the spacer was gone, they were very powerful magnets. I think I broke two fingers on this GD piece of SH-T!!! I don’t know if I will be able to use it myself, or if I will need my husband to try it on our condo windows. Dangerous to use, especially for a small boned woman.

Tricky, but the results are decent
I think the negative reviews for this product are mostly a result of unrealistic expectations. If what you're looking for is a perfect, streak-free shine, I, personally, have not managed to achieve that with this tool. That said, with a little practice, you can get results that are pretty darn good without the expense of hiring a second-story window-washer. I bought this to clean the windows in my 2nd floor office (because my company never seems to do it). The first window I did took a ridiculous amount of time, but the final result was good. Not perfect. I couldn't get the dirt along the edges at the top, and there were some streaks. But WAY better than it was before. By the third window I had mastered it such that I could get those same results in a reasonable amount of time. A couple of tips:- Definitely spray the windows well with water or glass cleaner, and keep it on hand to respray periodically as you go. As soon as it gets too dry, it becomes almost impossible to maneuver.- Lead with the squeegee side on the first pass or two. Until you've squeegeed off most of the dirt, the other side just pushes it around.- A couple of reviewers suggested pinning a washcloth or cleaning wipe around the tool, and I would agree with doing at least one pass this way after squeegeeing. This definitely helps to reduce the streaks.- DO be careful about getting the two sides close to each other and having them snap together on your fingers. It hurts! The magnets need to be this strong, as my windows are double-paned, but when there's not a double-paned window between them, it can be mildly hazardous! All in all, though, I'd recommend this product for this purpose, and will certainly be using mine regularly, as well as loaning it out to others in my office.

Magnets are way too strong. But works!
Not sure this is legal. Magnets are way too strong. I easily could have broken the window (but didn’t). Crushed my fingers. But in the end, yeah it worked! But it’s risky business. Again, the magnets were way too strong

Kinda hard to use at first but..
once you get the hang of it, IT CLEANS SO GOOD. literally made the glass on my window disappear, it cleaned that good. A must have if you can’t clean your windows from the outside. Just be careful the magnets on this thing are really strong, and if you don’t put that little plastic piece in the middle when storing it away, good luck prying it open for next time lol.

Good tool
I live in a 4th floor and I just installed new hurricane windows, so to keep them clean in the outside was very expensive, this little tool does a decent job....

This is a very very strong magnet.
The magnet was so strong that I could not get the two pieces apart. I had to return the item.

A must have for high rise apartments.
If you live in a high rise, or any have any hard to reach windows... this thing is a God-send. I live on the 5th floor and the windows open outward, making it extremely difficult to clean them. And any Angeleno knows how dirty windows can get thanks to the dusty dirty air. Here's a before and after shot. For reference, my windows have a top half that opens outward and a bottom half that is fixed. I think it's pretty easy to tell what part has been cleaned. It only took 5 minutes to clean this window. And because they were so dirty, there's bound to be a little residual dirty water streak here and there. But a microfiber cloth on an extendable pole of sorts is enough to get it spotless without much effort. You put one piece outside the window and the other inside. The magnet holds the 2 pieces together and it comes with a 6 ft string you attach to your wrist, just in case you drop it outside your window. After the pieces are in place, you simply clean the inside of the window, and the outside gets cleaned at the same time. It's important to get the window throughly saturated, otherwise the squeegee might have too much friction and cause it to drop. Some versions are more expensive but this one was only $27 on Amazon and I highly recommend. If you decide to order, I'd suggest making sure you have extra replacement parts.
