Changes dogs life for the better
I was not going to rate or even write a review on this but felt compelled to. I was original upset that the ramp was delivered and just leaned up against one of my garage doors facing the street for all the world to see that I had a substantial delivery. In this day and age you don't want people to see that as many are bold enough to just come up and take it. I've seen repeadedly on Neighborhood app and Ring app postings and delivery people know this. Furthermore, there was a lag that day and few around it in notifications being timely on deliveries from Amazon for some reason and my Ring camera out front could not see where they placed the delivery... did not know was there and that's not good. If my wife had not back out of her garage, saw the delivery there and let me know about it I would have opened my garage, scraped the garage door as it was leaning back up against the door and the box would have fell onto the back of my pickup when I was leaving about 30 minutes after my wife. I hauled the box in and the box was beat up pretty bad and been handled poorly. I had read in other reviews that stated... took long time to deliver/long lead time. I believe that may be due to where it comes from and path it takes to get to some. While it did not take as long as they stated to get to me in Central California as they stated it may (that was nice surprise), I can see why it took as long as it did. I remember when checking tracking status while waiting for it that It showed that the shipment originated in Cananda, went through Kentucky, and then onto California. Here is what the tracking info looked like before hitting its 3 more stops and handling locations in California: Saturday, July 24 6:05 AM Package has left the carrier facility. Louisville, KY US 12:53 AM Package arrived at a carrier facility. Louisville, KY US Friday, July 23 10:31 PM Initiated customs clearance at destination country. Richmond, BC CA 12:25 PM Package has left the carrier facility. Richmond, BC CA 4:51 AM Package arrived at a carrier facility. Prince George, BC CA Tuesday, July 20 3:50 PM Package has been received by carrier. Williams Lake, BC CA Monday, July 19 Package has shipped That is a lot of stops and handling locations! This coupled with negligence by people handling and or just being cheap on shipping lead to the condition of the shipment in my opinion. I questioned whether or not to open the box because of the condition and just go through hassle of sending back for return/swap and took pictures of damage. After thinking about it and not wanting to wait or go through potentially getting another damage one hassle, I decided to unpack and inspect as I really needed to get this going for our dog. After unpacking I was amazed that only 2 pieces of the wood were damaged. I decided that I could hide one of the pieces with no structural issues from damage and the other one I just fixed up with some scraping/sanding/glue/paint and flipped it over on the assembly with no structural issues as well. The instructions for assembly are ok. Just so/so illustrations pretty much and you should really pay attention to the details on the illustrations and look ahead on the further illustration steps to get a real good feel for the complete assembly. I say this as I can see where one might assemble aspects of the ramp wrong as they go and have to disassemble, then reassemble correctly if they are not handy, comfortable, and or experienced in such things. The installation went very well for me and the way the decided to approach having the ramp put together with associated hardware chosen was very well done. Don't know if they thought about this from very beginning or if they leaned over time and made changes for continued improvement on ramp, but bravo in either case... well done! The ramp is strong with a nice finish and appearance. The black tread bad is very nice and provides excellent traction for dogs. The grade of the ramp is perfect and even very old dogs with walking difficulties should be able to use this ramp. Very sturdy and this greatly helped to achieve very little training/getting dog comfortable on using ramp time with our dog that is extremely sensitive to things no being sturdy or unstable. Our dog has had surgery on one of her rear legs awhile back and her mobility just not as good as used to be and now getting worse with her age. The ramp has changed our dogs life and she is so happy. It is like she has new territory available and when she want to get to or down from her favorite spots for rest, sleep, or just hanging out she can do it on her own and without pain or delay. She can do all the things are other dog can now and she is visibly happier and smiling more. This ramp worked so well for her and after watching the videos available on this ramp before buying it (suggest you watch the video), I decided to get smaller ramps for some couches. Big difference around here and a good one. Even our other dog is using the ramps more now and this is saving the joints and improving the quality of our dogs lives I believe... probably extending their lives. I highly recommend this ramp for higher/bed access and any other smaller sturdy ramps for lower access needs. I did try to contact the seller on the issues with the shipping/damage through Amazon in detail, but unfortunately have not heard a peep out of anyone back about it yet. Unfortunate on that count and may mean that customer service if you have an issue you need them to resolve or help with... you may be out of luck and frustrated with them. Would hope to have just gotten a sorry or something like when this happen on some parts for my dads jeep that I ordered through Amazon while back they apologized and asked if I would take a discount for troubles and installed them anyway with a minor repair and one little replacement piece for the part. Anyway, if you make this substantial purchase for your pet I believe it will be a great day in your pets life and you will feel great for doing it for them. Hope this review helps in some way.

Back Saver for Dachshunds
I literally looked for months and compared all kinds of ramps before I decided on this one. This was an even better purchase than I anticipated. It is very sturdy and well-made. You can also email the company if you have questions and they do respond quickly. The anti-slip mat that goes in the ramp is perfect; literally no slippage whatsoever. It took about three days to fully train my Dachshund who is 2 to go up and down. Since he was already a couple years old, he definitely was not excited about it. But it is so worth it. Trained him to go up comes first, the down was a little more coaxing โ but he did it. I love that it has a platform at the top bc it was instrumental in getting him are use that to go down. He would just sit on the platform and look down at first, lol. Baby steps! In assembly, you can put the railings on either side. There are a lot of pieces and it did take a couple hours to completely assemble. It was also a larger unit than I expected. However I am extremely pleased with it. I wish I had bought it from my previous Dachshund. Donโt be without a ramp for a Dachshund, it doesnโt end well. :( This would be good for any dog with mobility issues or seniors. It was well packaged with lots of cushion to avoid shipping damage. (The box is surprisingly tall because of this). The other more commercial ones that I was looking at would not be of this quality I donโt think. So, itโs really worth the price. There is also a video that was extremely helpful in assembling the ramp. She goes step-by-step. Hopefully this ramp will allow us to stave off IVDD.

Money very well spent!
My 16-year-old micro-mini dachshund's favorite place is on my bed. When she was much younger, I got some steps for her and she navigated them with ease, although they were not deep enough to accommodate her long body and she only used them to get on the bed, not off. When I added more stuff to my bedroom, the steps went into the garage and I happily lifted her onto, and off of, the bed. Now that I'm working from home, her on-the-bed, off-the-bed demands are much more frequent, demanding, and intrusive; just like a toddler, her needs are most critical during important phone calls. I dusted off the steps and patted myself on the back for not donating them years ago. I've never had a senior dog before, and Emerald still looks and acts like a puppy, so I didn't consider that the steps might be difficult for her to manage. It became very clear right away that the steps would not solve my problem. I searched for ramps and added a couple of them to my cart while I continued shopping. This was the only ramp with a side rail and, although it's more than I would have like to have spent, it was the obvious choice for her needs. It arrived much sooner than expected and took much longer to assemble than I thought it would. Of course, I am almost a senior myself, and I'm not very mechanically inclined, so there is that. My more handy friend and I put it together and were discouraged by a few flaws: 1. One hole was barely a hole. When I got my razor knife in there to force it to become a hole, the wood around the hole splintered. 2. Some parts were a bit warped and required a clamp to squeeze 'em together so that the bolt would go in far enough to catch that annoying inner metal thing that has a hole in it. 3. While sliding the long ramp into the grooves, the structure slipped a little and the wood on the frame splintered. None of these things were annoying enough to deduct a star, however. The pros: It's very sturdy and the grade is manageable. The design is well thought out and practical. It's attractive. It doesn't take up a lot of space. It has given me great peace of mind knowing that Emerald won't attempt to jump off the bed when I'm not present and that she can get onto the bed without help. The cons: The frame on either side of the rubber mat is quite slick. Emerald is small, under 10 lbs, so she must step on the frame to get to the rubber mat. This caused her to be very apprehensive about getting on the ramp and I went through an entire chimichanga during training. I bought some rubber traction tape and that took care of that. The gaps between the railing are not suitable for small breeds. Because the frame is slick, and because Emerald has a long body, she almost slipped right through, backward, while trying to exit the ramp and get onto the bed. A big thank-you to another reviewer who shared their solution: weaving a fluffy blanket through the gaps; worked like a charm! The landing is a couple of inches taller than my bed so there is a sizeable gap between the underside of the landing and the bed. Because the frame is slick, there's a risk of Emerald's foot slipping between the landing and the bed. I have solved this by cutting a piece of a carpet so that it is long and wide enough to entirely cover the landing and extend about two feet onto the bed. I am a very satisfied customer.

Sturdy and Great Craftsmanship
What I like about this ramp is that it is sturdy and solid. I have two 8 year old chubby dogs (100 and 120 pounds) and our female was having a tough time getting up the last step of our stairs we have to get on the bed, so it was time for a ramp. We have a very high four poster bed also. I asked our contractor to make one but with the cost of lumber being so expensive right now, it would have cost over $500 just for supplies and labor to make a similar ramp. We gave this one a try and were not disappointed. I will admit that it took a lot of coaxing to get the dogs to go up the ramp, but if you watch the video for this product, you will see how to coax your pet with food and if there is no other way up onto the bed, they will eventually figure it out. It took my husband 2 hours to put this together, but everything fit perfectly and all the screws, etc. were included. I did modify the ramp a bit, I had my husband cut off a small part of the lower portion of the railing at the bottom only because it gave the dogs more room to head up the ramp where we have it positioned. The only suggestion I would have to make this better is to maybe make the "platform" a bit longer for bigger dogs to pivot on. I also added wooden rulers (yes, I said rulers!) along the ramp for the dogs to have a better grip when they walk up, although the mat that comes with the ramp is very thick and cushiony. Incredible price and a quality product. My mind is at ease and my dogs are safer now.

Good choice
The package arrived punched out and torn up. I just knew it was destroyed. Much to my surprise there was no damage to the parts. I assemble many many things and while I have no special skills I have much practice. Worst instructions EVER. Take your time and be patient. Took me a couple of hours and no real disasters, but some foul language. End product is excellent and it met my fur family needs. Itโs sturdy and looks just like the pictures. There was a bit of a learning curve for my old guy and my lame Aussie, the other three just figured it out instantly. After the second day the learning curve was past. This was a good choice for us. However, someone needs to work on those instructions they are horrible compared to the tons of pieces I have constructed.

Best fur baby purchase ever
This ramp has been a life saver and worth every penny! My husband was skeptical about it and whether our senior dogs would use it. His dog is a large dog (72 lbs of love) and recently got diagnosed with arthritis. Heโs not allowed to jump on and off our bed anymore due to the higher potential of getting hurt. We tried pet steps but that wasnโt successful at all. This ramp looked the best and had great reviews, so I thought Iโd give it a try. The shipping said it would take almost a month to get to me. Iโm a Prime girl, but I still had to get this ramp. It got to me a couple weeks after I ordered it which was a great surprise. Everything was intact and all parts and pieces were there. The instructions were terrible (no words, just pictures) and none of the parts were labeled. I used post-it notes to label everything so I knew it was all there. I tried to put it together myself but ended up needing my husbandโs help. Attaching the ramp to the base was problematic due to base pieces not being glued correctly. The screws ended up not being long enough, so we went to the hardware store to get a little longer screws. That solved the problem and we were able to complete the ramp. Itโs very secure. We have it at the foot of our bed. We have a king bed and the length of the ramp fits perfectly. My husband was concerned about tripping over it but itโs perfect. It took a little time for our dogs to get used to it, but with treats, we had them going up and down in a day. I would highly recommend this ramp, even though the instructions were crappy and it wasnโt the easiest to assemble. It has been a game changer for our dogs and thatโs all that matters.

Only choice for large dogs!!
TOP NOTCH QUALITY! I settled on this ramp after viewing each and every wood and metal ramp offered (as well as a number made of plastic and a few miscellaneous others) and returning my two previous choices that didnโt make the grade in real life. I have two dogs. A 90lb femal mastiff/ridgeback mix, Lucy, and an 88lb male Pit Bull, Buddy. Sheโs about to turn 11 in the next couple of months and heโll follow about 6 months later. All in all theyโre in excellent shape for their ages. (Iโm extremely lucky!) But, entering into their second decade they have slowed down a little and are more susceptible to injury than when they were younger. Lucy has a bit of elbow dysplasia (common to her breed) that became an issue at about 3yo. She has been an EXTREMELY athletic dog her entire life and is blessed with great genes but, for years now overuse or tweaking it the wrong way would leave her favoring it for a period of time. My bulldog, on the other hand, has NEVER been a very athletic dog. I rescued him at about a year old. He had a great big head on a lean body where I could count his ribs. I promptly removed his balls and havenโt seen that lean body since. I struggle to keep him under 90lbs. Within the last six months heโs developed an issue with going down stairs. Neither of them has ever slept anywhere but in my bed each night. But, this summer we spent 2 months sleeping on the floor next to my mom because of her health issues. When we finally made it back into our bed both of them started having trouble jumping into the bed for the first time ever. Now, sometimes they can get in bed by themselves, sometimes they need help. But, a few weeks ago my bulldog hurt his leg jumping out of bed in the morning. That was that for me. It was time to order a ramp. I wanted something that was sturdy enough to hold up to both of them using it. Also, something that was comfortable for them to walk on so they would use it. I tried the four wooden steps that come as one piece (about 3ft long). No way. That might work for smaller dogs but my big guys took one look and refused. It was simply too small and too steep for a large dog. I also tried a metal ramp but the construction was shoddy and it went right back. This ramp takes a little time to assemble correctly but, the directions are impeccable. And once finished nothing else compares. I LOVE IT!!!

My 90 lb Setter loves it
This ramp is just what we needed for our 11 yr. old English Setter. She always used steps but get up on the bed but she wouldn't go back down them, she would jump down. Lately she has been limping from an arthritic shoulder so we wanted to get something she would choose to go down. This ramp was just the ticket. It fits across the width of our King size bed and takes up less room than her last pair of steps. The incline is not too steep and the padding is non-slip. It is very high quality, attractive and sturdy. Worth every penny and the long wait to receive it. Highly receommended.

The pupperonies love it!!
Excellent product! My little pupperonies love it! It's sturdy and dependable! I don't have to worry about falls with the rubber mat included! I bought a different product (because it would collapse and store under the bed) and had to send it back (at my cost). It was more expensive and was wobbly and bouncy. (They suggested training my dog not to run on it! Good luck with my rambunctious Gertie!) Then I figured, why do I want to store it under the bed? This product is definitely BIG, but it's rugged and dependable! Only suggestion...color options! (I painted mine white!)

Sturdy, nice finish, long to assemble but easy
The board for the rap was slightly damaged - looks like prob during delivery they bang up the box a bit. It is fairly large long package. Assembly took me a long time due to that some drill holes were not drilled through properly and i had to search for longer wood screw for the base because one out of two short screws just couldnโt secure the piece i was putting on. If i had no issues above the assembly would have been much faster. Would recommend two people to put it together but i think 1 person could do it. The ramp is very sturdy. Comes with a rubber mat, hopefully smell will dissipate. I like the railing and that i can attached on either side. My dog was afraid of going up the foam stairs to bed because he could fall of sides. The railing helps. The wood finish was nice, they use primarily pine. My senior dog has no problem going and down on it right away with some treats to encourage him. However will take some time for him to use it instead of him launching off the bed. Overall i a pretty good product and i would recommend this ramp.

Large Dog Worthy! Sturdy....Stable....Worth EVERY penny!
If you have a large dog.....60 pounds or more, this ramp is worth the money! Kayla is a 70 pound Yellow Labrador and when I first introduced the ramp to her, naturally, I was using treats to train her to use it. She was jumping and thumping on this ramp getting on and off the bed and it held up beautifully! Very sturdy!! I used the instructions provided with the ramp in combination with the video that is recommended, that shows it being assembled step by step. I had no difficulties, other than sometimes having to wiggle the transverse hole nut to get the bolt lined up.....really, not a big deal. I assembled it by myself too! Iโm a 57 year old female who is not in good shape. I did not find it too heavy or awkward to work with. This is a very well thought out design and I am so very happy I chose this ramp for Kayla!! Worth the money because if the ramp you choose is not stable, a medium to large sized dog is not going to want to walk on it. As you can tell, I am absolutely thrilled with this ramp!

Makes a dogs challenge easy.
Not just to spoil your dog . This will make your loved ones life easier to get onto the bed. A gentle rise both up and down the ramp with a perfect height to be level with most any mattress. Quality materials with easy assembly. Can be made to go either the left or right direction. Your dog will love you even more for this little assist in his or her life. The seller is easy to deal with. Reliable, honest and friendly. Three things hardly found in business today. I highly recommend them.

A great investment against future vet bills
My son finally put it together for me. I had to stay out of the room he was in because he was having a hard time understanding the instructions. However, once put together, it's great. Had my four girls using it within minutes. Of course I tempted them with treats. I look at it as a investment against future vet bills and surgeries on any type of injury a dog can get from jumping off a high bed. It is expensive and I did think about it for a long time. But once I put it into contest, i ordered it. My main worry is my chubby short leg pug. Now I don't have to lift her onto my bed anymore. And it will save her legs when she jumps down. Well worth the money.
