Quite useful. Does what it should.

It cut my vegetables thinly and was easy to use, disappoint in the hand peeler, a bit duff.

This is an old fashioned idea that has been around a lot longer than I have and I remember using one when I was training as a chef in 1963 – (I’m now 74) it’s brilliant - It slices everything up uniformly and helps eg. with boiling potatoes in the microwave to save on energy (Money) it takes something like 5 to 6 minutes to boil them for mashed potatoes instead of 20 odd minutes on the hob, which takes several minutes just to HEAT UP!! This Mandolin (compact) comes with a selection of cutters in a container and is so simple to use. I recommend it – thinking along the lines of saving money on energy at this time.

Great value for the money, needed this especially to make perfect cut potatoes for dauphinois potatoes the 3mm setting done the job very well, but be careful the blades are very sharp!!

Brilliant device. Easy to use and store. Excellent value. The different size slicer makes it a lot easier when choosing something easier to cook.

This slicer was opnly bought for the blades to make crisps with. I am not overwhelmingly impressed with this cheap, flimsy, Chinese plastic product, at all. It struggles to cut potatoes and needs some force. The thinner slicer can't even cut a complete slice thus meaning a bowl of potato bits is the result. I have tried a few different varieties of potato and some are too hard to slice, with this product, that I gave up and potatoes that should be easy slice due to them being a softer variety, such as Maris Pipers, are still not easy. So, I come to wether I would recommend this or not and my conclusion is the same as it is with most "cheap", "tacky", Chinese "plastic" products and that is "NO"! I do recommend this product at all as it is actually "poor value". If it did the job at least a little easy and the blades were sharp enough to actually cut a potato then I might have had a different opinion but sadly the blades aren't sharp and it doesn't cut potato, it only hacks pieces of slices away. I will keep searching as I'm sure there must be a product that can thinly slice potatoes, for my crisps and I now certainly doubt it will be a Chinese product. I had the same problem with finding a Chipper until I finally found a traditional "metal" chipper and am happy as Larry with it, after numerous disappointments and some expenditure. It is really worth trying to find the traditional things, made with metal rather than keep risking it with plastic products.

Good chopper good quality well worth the money and keeps neat and tidy the blades are in a little box

I tried this with jumbo spring onion, tomato, and a few other things as a mandolin. The veg basically end up as a sort of thin mush on the outside of the blade and not as, say, slices of tomato that could be put into a sandwich. Tried all the straight blades (I don't want shredded tomato). The tomato ended up more or less as it started but with the bottom ground off. The onion, ditto. I ended up slicing them both with a knife and this will probably get thrown away soon. Not as cheap as it works, either. The blades only fit one way up so I don't think it's that.
