Great travel/toddler size, but some heavy messages
Love the price and that it’s sized for baby’s hands. And the illustrations and realistic details about animals’ lives in the wild are always amazing in these books. *But* the messages in this one are a bit heavier than the others — about 4-5 pages are about how animals try to eat the animal and even humans try to get it to use its skin for bags. Good for older kids to know once they’re more aware of realities of life, being conscious consumers, etc., maybe but a bit too dark for the under-5 set that’d I’d bought it for, so had to return. My 21-month old loves all the other books in this series, though!

Tiny book
I have another book by this author “I am a little tiger” and love it so we wanted to get another animal but when it arrived it is a miniature size of the original.

Fun and portable.
Cute pictures, fun to read, just not quite as fun as the I am a Little Panda in the big book version.

I am a little alligator
I bought this for my two year old grandson who loves alligators. I didn't even give him the book. It is not sturdy and is quite small, too tiny for a two year old's hands. I shall save it for later.

A sweet book with wonderful illustrations about the first days in life of a little alligator
Together with a couple of other "I am a little..." books, this one is a great personal favourite of my 3 years old daughter. She is absolutely fascinated with the little alligators hatching from their eggs and then being helped into the water by their REALLY HUGE mother. Once in the water the baby alligators learn how to swim, catch insects and tadpoles (no actual devouring is showed), hide from the predators (especially the herons) and run for help to their mum when a hungry raccoon comes visiting...The illustrations are absolutely wonderful and they show with amazing details the incredible beauty and biological diversity of Luisiana's bayous. My older daughter used also to like this book very much when she was 3 years old, and later even practiced her reading on it, when she was 6. It is a little treasure - enjoy!
