Would these crucibles work safely in an electric resistance furnace (Kanthol coils, or ceramics/pottery kiln for example)?

I can't say for sure.... the pottery kiln I'm guessing for sure they would work. As for the electric resistance (kanthol coils) as long as the graphite can't contact the coil they should be ok , I use mine (2) in a homemade wood pellet foundry that gets super hot when I start forcing the air in.... These crucibles have handled a few occasions of me not being patient and with little to no preheating put them right on the fire and they seem to be fine... Remember to flux them first....

Do i preheat it to 400 C or F for an hour?

I have no way to measure the temperature. Just know that I heat it slowly nd it has tolerated the melting of brass well.

Worst case scenario if I tried melting aluminum in a charcoal forge with this product?

I use mine in a pellet burning furnace

Instructions say to cure crucible in oven with borax. But borax melts at 1,369*F. Does it mean foundry instead of oven?

I just put mine in the house oven and set it for max temp. I set the oven to "self clean" which heats and holds higher temp. seems to have worked fine.

Seems sturdy and good customer service

The crucibles seem sturdy and have consistent quality control so far. If anything crazy happen in firing I'll probably post another review but I doubt there will be any issues. There are detailed instructions on how to season them and it explains to preheat the crucibles before firing, which is helpful. One came broken (not a fault of the company I don't believe) and they quickly shipped a replacement.

Worked for me

It's a container for metal that is engulfed in 2000 plus degree flames. it lasted me about a half dozen smelts. For $18 bucks it worked good to me while it lasted. I always let it cool naturally after a melt and kept dry indoors when not in use.
