Grand Prix 5000 Road Bike Tyres - Allrounder Clincher Bicycle Tyre | Versatile Road and Track Cycle Tyre with BlackChili Compound, Lazer Grip and Vectran Technology

So there's a lot of hype around these tyres. I needed a new pair of road tyres and had always wondered about GP5000s, so as these were on at a decent price and after much research with other manufacturers, I bought a pair. I'm running them with butyl inner tubes. Tyres were easy to mount on my carbon rims using a Tyre Monkey. I can imagine a bit tricky without one, so I'd recommend one of those of you're considering these tyres. I took them out for a short test ride at a good pace just to try them out, and I was not disappointed. They handled superbly, the bike felt quicker straight away, and leaning into corners, they felt grippy and light. I managed an average speed of just over 20mph over a 30 mile ride, about average for me, but with a strong headwind on the last 12 miles I like to think these helped. According to Strava I hit quite a few personal bests too. I'm yet to try them in the wet, but I'm not keen on taking my road bike out in the wet anyway, so perhaps never will! Overall I like these tyres a lot, the hype maybe justified, I'll see as I put more miles on them. I also think they look the business, look absolutely superb on the bike. Really nice pair of tyres. I always prefer Continental tyres as they are reliable, smooth, great in all weathers and with the contrast colour on the side of the tyre they are eye catching. They always seem to give me more miles than other tyres I have used in the past, so value for money too.

I bought 2 of these for my bike which 1 initially had a rip in the tyre but got them swiftly replaced with no issues at all. I had ridden over glass and no damage or puncture at all. They are the best of the best - highly recommend. Also a noticeable different in speed! Great quality tyres just buy them.

Bought these in 25mm last September to replace Schwalbe 23s to get a more comfortable ride. Big mistake, maybe they grip slightly better and are definitely lighter, but on crappy Scottish roads with loose chippings the feeble side wall has already ripped apart after less than 500 miles. If you’re going to ride in the UK I would suggest a more substantial tyre.

Bought these 28's. Jumped up from original 23's to 25's over the last 5 years then heard about these 28's. What a difference, ride feels smoother probably as you run these about 10 to 15 psi less. Feel a lot more confident cornering at speeds. If it helps, I was concerned these wouldn't fit on my wheels Mavic Carbone 40cms, but no problems at all, just make sure they fit your frame, mines a Pinarello Think 2 about 6 years old, loads of room.

Absolute nightmare to fit to carbon wheels for some reason, I have three sets so not an anomaly, maybe I had two bad ones sent out, but what are the chances of that? Once on they are a dream to ride, never going back to 25mm either

Ho provato gli pneumatici Continental Grand Prix 5000 e posso dire che sono davvero buoni per chi cerca un buon compromesso tra prestazioni e resistenza. Offrono una buona aderenza sia su strada asciutta che bagnata. La sensazione di guida è fluida e veloce, e questo li rende perfetti per uscite lunghe o anche per chi pratica sport come il ciclismo su strada. La protezione contro le forature è abbastanza buona, riducendo il rischio di danni, anche se non sono completamente immuni dalle forature. La durata è ottima, infatti non si consumano facilmente e continuano a performare anche dopo parecchi chilometri. Unico aspetto negativo è che non sono tra i più economici, ma se cerchi qualità, vale sicuramente la pena spendere un po' di più. In generale, sono pneumatici che consiglio a chi cerca sicurezza, velocità e durata senza troppi compromessi.

Puedo decir que desde la primer rodada pude notar la menor resistencia al rodado del neumático; recorría mayores distancias al dejar de pedalear y comenze a batir mis records de tiempos en segmentos cotidianos. Son algo difíciles de montar en mis ruedas, pero nada que un par de manivelas no solucionen. Luego de 3 meses libre de pinchazos por fin experimente uno, vengo de un par de maxxis Re-fuse con las que jamas me ponche en casi 3 años de uso.
