Low quality manufacturing. Points of the legs do not fully close, there is a 1-2mm gap between the points when fully closed. Hinge arrived caked with black build-up of graphite or some dry lubricant all around the hinge area. These issues do not prevent the dividers from being functional for most navigating tasks. Though buyers will need to clean up the lubricant to avoid leaving black smears on your charts.
