The book is well written and gives modern insights into Gerald B. Gardner's Eightfold Way
There are so many books out there on witchcraft today. The reason this book is worth getting is the quality of the content inside it. This book was clearly written by someone who has been walking the path of a witch for a very long time. The author gives a clear and solid review of the eight paths using modern insights from her personal experiences. I've bought a lot of books over the years and this is in my top 10 on the subject. It's worth getting. The reason I'm giving it four stars and not five is on page 143 it gives old/incorrect information on MDMA. As of this writing in January of 2023 the FDA has already granted MDMA Breakthrough Therapy Designation. This substance changes people's lives for the better when obtained through medical personnel. This book was written in 2014 so the research the author was able to do back then just lacked what we know today. That said, this book would be a great and valuable addition to your library.

Finally, something both practical and deep
As a coven leader and a priest within a very large local tradition in the Washington DC area, I am always looking for teaching material that can inspire my own teachings to students in addition to giving them something to teach themselves. Lady Sable's book does just that. There is so much to like about this book. The first thing that comes to mind is simply what a surprise it is. The first part of the book will present a lot of basics that might tempt an experience Crafter to lay the book down. Don't do it. The author approaches foundations with a nice fresh perspective and I really did enjoy hearing about it from another perspective. Plus, I think we witches are often keen on skipping past foundations, forgetting that they are the core of our work and that nothing can proceed without experiencing them first. Read on.The later chapters really are remarkable as the author presents methods of power raising and trance induction in a clear and practical way, yet with the depth of someone who has clearly been practicing and mastering them for many years. It comes off clearly in her writing that Aradia has done this work and has formulated an effective way to communicate the processes. One of the biggest things I was impressed with was that she does not shy away from drug and alcohol intoxicants as a method of trance induction. Indeed she even gives her own experience with them! She pairs the appropriate warnings, but also points out how important they are in the history of this work.I also want to point out that as an LGBTQ activist, I am very impressed with Aradia's consistency with pointing out how queer women and men can access power, outside of what is commonly thought to be a heteronormative Gardnerian theology. And beyond that, she even calls out transgender women and men and how they have every right to equally access these mysteries. I found myself cheering that those sections and in a Pagan world where our community is dealing with some highly transphobic "old school" "leaders", this visibility of trans people is very important. Bravo! In short, I will be re-reading this book in the future and recommending it to my students.

The Witch's Eight Paths of Power by Lady Sable Aradia
Wonderful. They've been there forever. Since Gerald Gardner wrote them down. The original Eightfold Path and The Five Essentials. Now a helpful Priestess comes along to give her version of a complete course in Magick and Witchcraft. I dare you to do it, in a year and a day. Which is to say, this book is for the already practicing. But if you're not, it's a real good start. Be prepared to do exercises. More than a hundred. Be prepared to read. She suggest authors and titles. Be prepared to look at yourself. Or do some work that should be done. Or have fun. And if you think you know it all, she might show you something else. Be alert. This is an important book. She said the word. Legacy. Good word.

The Best Way to Start as a Solitary
In almost 5 years I've read all the text in 37 books on Wicca theology and 19 closely-related ones, and THIS is the book I'll be practicing as a Solitary Practitioner. Yes, other books are necessary (for example, 1997's "Inside a Witch's Coven" or 1988's "Power of the Witch" or even "Chakras for Beginners"), but I'm convinced that this one volume is a solid launch into the necessary practices. The one exception I found was Breath Control, which is fundamental but can be dangerous and must be taught by either a Wiccan or a Yoga instructor.

Great info about the craft
This book gives a lot of exercises of using creative visualization, the key foundation to magick. She also gives quite a bit of info about the basic format of rituals. Although I have yet to read through the book entirely, I recommend this book to people just starting out on the craft!

A very direct and informative book on this topic. It is perhaps best suited to someone already familiar with witchcraft and wanting to pursue more. Loaded with exercises, practical tips and first hand knowledge, it will keep the reader busy for quite awhile. Sable's positive attitude and caring personality shine through as you read and do the many tasks assigned in the book.

Very good informative book for a solitary Wiccan
I liked the parts about invoking the God and Goddess, I was hoping for more magic secrets to become a more powerful witch or psychic.

but this is an excellent place to start
Very well-written, non-sensationalized look at foundation ideas in Gardnerian and other British Traditional Wicca. Each of the eight paths could use a book, but this is an excellent place to start.
