The box does not open. It is open in the back, but is not an actual hinged box. Please search Amazon for "Primitives by Kathy hinged boxes" if you'd like a gift box that opens. Thank you for your interest in our products!

We sellers are not able to have custom signs made, however, you could contact Primitives By Kathy directly and ask them if they could do it for you.

Horizontal is a tick less then 4 inches. Vertical is a tick over 5 inches. And the depth is over 1 inch.
