Compact and works well!
At first, I was surprised for its tiny size. Very compact. Ideal for travelers. Provides a close shave and works really well. Simply requires two AA batteries. Works better for busy people who don’t have a time to charge it or who don’t like to hassle with various cords and adopters. Easy to clean. Simple brushing is all it takes. Great value for the price. Highly recommended!

Surprisingly Close, Quiet, and Perfect for Travel
Surprisingly Close, Quiet, and Perfect for Travel This little Panasonic ES-RS10 travel shaver punches well above its weight. I originally picked it up as a backup, but it’s become my go-to for quick, clean shaves on the road. It runs on two AA batteries—no cords, no charging delays—and the motor feels strong enough to handle a full morning shave. It’s compact, lightweight, and fits neatly into a dopp kit or even a jacket pocket. For such a small unit, it gives a surprisingly close and even shave with minimal irritation. The foil is well designed, and the blades glide smoothly over the skin. I’ve used it both dry and with a dab of pre-shave lotion, and the results are consistently good. Battery life is excellent—weeks of use before swapping out the AAs. Build quality feels sturdy, with that classic Japanese precision Panasonic is known for. It doesn’t include a trimmer or travel case, and cleaning takes a quick tap or brush-out rather than rinsing under water. Still, that’s a minor tradeoff for something so portable and reliable. Bottom line: A small, well-built shaver that performs like a full-size model. Ideal for travel, office touch-ups, or minimalist grooming setups. One of those rare inexpensive gadgets that you’ll actually keep using.

It has its pluses and minuses
This is a well made, handy little shaver that’s great for travel, or even home use. The only reason it gets 4 stars and not 5 is that it doesn’t shave me quite as close as the Panny 3831K I bought at the same time. I looked at all the reviews here and on the web for a small travel shaver. Ideally I wanted a wet/dry shaver that was well rated, and the 3831K ticked all the boxes there. But I really liked what I saw for this tiny RS10, even if it wasn’t washable. Sure enough it shaves very nicely with either a powder or a liquid pre-shave. It’s also highly maneuverable because of its small size. Even with its small size it has a nice, solid feel. But since I wanted something I could just run under a hotel faucet for cleaning, I also got the 3831K. I tested both over several days by first shaving with one, and then doing another pass with the other, to see if it picked up anything the first didn’t. When I used this shaver first followed by the 3831K, the latter consistently did a better job of leaving a smooth finish. When I started with the 3831K, the RS10 had really nothing left to do on its pass. So either way it seems it didn’t shave me quite as close as the other. That’s not to say this is an unworthy shaver. It has its advantages. It is more maneuverable than the 3831K, as I said before. It also glides during shaving a bit more smoothly. Not sure how this can be, since it looks like both use the same foil. I can only guess the slight added bulk of the 3831K makes it a tiny bit more cumbersome for me to use. Which leads to the last point in favor of the RS10 - it’s way smaller than the other one, making it a perfect kit traveling shaver, if you don’t mind dry brushing to clean it. I’m keeping both. The RS10 shave is “close enough” for me, but the 3831K will probably get used more while traveling since it’s washable. Gotta love the RS10, though - it’s a nice piece of engineering!

Much better than the Braun M-90 ...
Altho I've only been using it for ~10 days this is hugely better than the Braun M-90 shaver I've been using for over 10 years. I've used the Braun M-90 with a 3.7V lithium ion rechargeable battery along with a dummy cell so it's been 'over driven' all that time without any issues. Normal total voltage with standard AA cells is 3.0V. The over voltage provides a significant improvement in performance compared with using two standard AA cells. Along with a slight weight savings. But I've been unhappy with the shave provided. It missed hairs in areas where they grew flat so I had to periodically follow up with a safety razor. Because of this I went thru a period when I tested quite a few stupid expensive electric shavers but since NONE of them provided any better of a shave (along with being bulky) I returned to the Braun M-90. But lately I've also been having an issue with the Braun M-90 foils wearing quite quickly - usually within 4 months - when they're supposed to be good for ~1 year. And, no, they weren't counterfeit because I would buy the Braun M-60 shaver just for the foil & cutter specifically to avoid the issue with counterfeits or inferior products. I've been reluctant to try another electronic shaver after my previous experience with other electronic shavers & because I couldn't find a travel shaver with a hair trimmer. But I finally gave up on the idea of a shaver with a built-in hair trimmer & bought the Schick Hydro Silk Perfect Finish Trimmer here on Amazon (currently discounted!) which I'm quite pleased with. Much easier to use than the Braun M-90 built-in hair trimmer & it also has a wider cutting blade making it much easier to cut errant head hairs. I'm currently also using the Panasonic overvoltaged & so far haven't had any issues. It does a MUCH, MUCH better job at shaving than the Braun M-90 did. No issues with missing hairs growing flat. And aside from a few days for my face/neck to get used to the difference in shaving it's been absolutely stellar. Do wish it came with a built-in hair trimmer though. But ... still ... the combined weight of the Panasonic shaver & Schick hair trimmer is only ~40 grams (~1.4 oz) more than the Braun M-90 shaver alone so there's not much of a difference in weight. Plus, the Schick hair trimmer is much easier & faster to use so all in all I'd say that's a win.

Pretty much...WOW!
I have a $200 or so Braun electric shaver...I forget, the series 9 something. In any case been traveling much more these days and finding my regular sized Braun takes up too much room, too heavy, also have to bring the charger. I wanted a very small DECENT shaver for travel and to put in my carry on luggage. Took a chance on this Panasonic shaver and I kind of thought maybe it will work...but from some negative reviews I saw maybe it will barely work and or is it really made in Japan? not China? Well I purposely did not shave for three days knowing this Panasonic shaver was going to be delivered. It is TINY like maybe about 3 inches tall/1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. I put in two rechargeable AA's in it and off I went to test it. All I can say is WOW, to how well it worked/works. I have NO idea how some reviews stated it barely cut well or, it was made in China...The box clearly says made in Japan and it's also right on the back of the shaver. What to really say here. It's tiny....it gave me a CLOSER shave than my $200 bulky Braun, and I am blown away that it works as well as it does for about just $18!! haha, I am actually looking forward to shaving again because this thing works so well. As to longevity, I can not say yet, but if it lasts a while...this is maybe the best $20-ish I have spent on Amazon all year. On a side note, I'm no brand fan boy of ANY brand, but I have NEVER had any Panasonic ANYTHING from cameras to a rice cooker die on me. They must have GREAT QC overall..as the brand is so solid esp. vs all those new no name brands from Asia...you know. I do wish it had a trimer like a larger Braun travel shaver but that Braun looks nearly twice this size and my purpose was to find the smallest electric shaver possible. I am simply wowed by this thing. If it does die on me too soon, I'll update this review...so far...I am amazed at this little guy esp. vs it's price point!!

Great razor for the price but flops at cutting some hairs.
I wanted a very small but inexpensive battery-powered razor so I could take it backpacking, and this Panasonic AA battery-powered razor fits that need very well. It's small in height and width and it's very thin, plus it's lightweight, so it packs into my backpack extremely well. It shaves decent enough, it's not going to shave as close as a blade but shaves good enough. No electric razor, no matter what they advertise, can shave as close as a blade. I've owned large expensive rotary and foil razors and they simply cannot compete with a blade, and neither can this little Panasonic. Since the Panasonic only has one cutting foil, it will take several passes to get to chop the beard down, large triple foil razors do a better job, but still won't be as close as a blade. Foil-type razors do cut closer than a rotary type, not much closer but closer. So if you need something small for travel and or camping this is the perfect solution. My only quips about it is the foil blade cover, the cover is not very secure at all, and it came off inside my backpack, so I now put a rubber band over the top of the cover and around the razor to hold in place. The cost to do this minor correction would be very small, but this has been a problem with this razor for a very long time, and Panasonic knows about it but has refused to correct it. The other problem, which isn't a big problem, but they should have made this razor waterproof so a person could use it in the shower, or rinse it under running water, but they do include a brush, so you can brush the blade clean. The last quip is the brush, there should have been some way that the brush could attach firmly to the razor, instead, it's just loose, so the rubber band I use to hold the cover on also holds the brush against the body of the razor so I don't lose it. The brush already has a hole in the center, so why wasn't there a round male molded plastic plug sticking out of the rear face of the razor so that the brush would just press in firmly and stay in place? Those are minor quips, but all of them can be remedied cheaply, the only thing that might make the razor a tad more expensive is making it waterproof, but I think the added expense would be worth it, the other two shouldn't cost anything to make them work correctly so they don't get lost. That's why I gave the razor 4 stars, if they ever decide to fix those simple-to-fix issues it would get a 5-star rating. I can't take off anything for the closeness of the shave, because I knew when I bought it that a single foil wasn't going to cut as close as a 4 foil with far better blades like the Panasonic Arc 5 has. So, buy it for travel, buy it for camping, but don't buy it for everyday use thinking you're going to get a close shave for work, if you need that sort of shaver get the Panasonic Arc 5, or better yet buy a Rockwell 6C for an incredibly close and smooth shave.

My favorite shaver
This has turned out to be my favorite shaver. Bought originally for travel but as it turns out it is the best of all my shavers including three or four "guaranteed to be wonderful" $100+ shavers from Panasonic, Norelco etc. Wish it was rechargeable, but works well with rechargeable batteries. It's actually less money than what you pay for replacement blades for the supposedly fantastic shavers.

The good and the bad, but not the ugly
This razor provides a good cut, where it cuts, but I will get to that in a moment. It has been years since I have used an electric razor . . . ok probably 15 of them . . . and if this is an inexpensive travel variant, I may give them another look. I normally use a safety razor, it seems I get less irritation over a normal razor; but I had a longer international flight coming up and I didn't want to have to carry safety razor blades and shaving cream through airport security (carry on only). So I purchased this. Let me start with the cut: I would rate it great, in the morning when I shaved I could not tell the difference between this cut and my normal shave, but by the evening this was noticeably rougher, but still acceptable. As I alluded to earlier here is where I ran into trouble: first, I have a fast growing beard and whereas with a normal razor missing a stray hair here or there would be no problem (they would be addressed by the next day's shave and would not be noticeable until then) with this razor on the second day a missed hair would often be too long to reliably be cut by this razor. And second, and this varies by person, this razor simply did not fit me, while my face was fine and problem free, my next and jaw simply did not conform to the razor's needs; this meant multiple passes and extended time spent on the area in attempt to avoid missing a hair here or there (see the first point). These may not be an issue for you, maybe your hair grown slower or your face is a better fit for this razor in which case you will be fine. As for me I will continue to use this razor as a travel razor for an overnight or weekend trip, but will not use it for an extended trip; on my extended trip I ended up with a disposable razor to "touch-up" after this razor every few days. Battery life: I have to rate it excellent, I used this razor every day for over a month with a thick quick growing beard and it is still ready for more. I did use a name brand set of batteries, your milage may vary based upon your batteries. Get a rubber band: Now for my biggest problem, the plastic protective guard it comes with down not stay in place; this coupled with the thin foil is a recipe for damage. Sure enough about half way through my trip the guard got loose off while packed during a travel day and the edge of the foil was bent. I managed to press the dent out with the rounded back end of a pair of tweezers and resumed use. I also used a rubber band to prevent this from reoccurring.
