Is there a ac adapter for hdr-14?

If you buy the radio new in box there is a five volt AC adapter. If you don't get an AC adapter with the radio, it will be a trial finding one as it is FIVE Volts with a micro barrel plug. An unusual adapter typical not falling in a generic adapter category. I most often use the radio with 3 AA rechargeable batteries, with the batteries being recharged out of the radio in a separate charger.

Does this radio have the in between channels ?

The radio has both 10 kHz and 9 kHz spacing on the AM/MW band. To me that means it receives the in between channels. On the FM/VHF band it is capable of 100 kHz spacing. That too indicates the in between channels may be tuned.

I plugged it in and it just flashed "welcome to hd radio" and then kept turning off and on. i unplugged and plugged back in and now i get nothing.

The batteries probably need to be charged overnight. Radio is shipped with almost dead batteries. I think you used up the little bit of residual "juice" left in the batteries.
