Sizing Tricky!
I purchased the suitical recovery suit in pink camo for my 6mth old 17 pound Boston Terrier 'Lola' to wear after being spayed.Hoping this helps you decide on the right size for your puppy with similar measurements, as the sizing chart proved tricky for me... I measured Lola to be 19 inch length (scruff of neck to tail); 20 inch girth (around largest part of chest) and 13 width (around neck).I'll start with the positives: The packaging is excellent and the quality of the material looks pretty durable, its quite thick and soft. Will see how it holds up after machine washing. The sizing chart says that small is 17 - 20 " length (scruff of neck to tail) and the small plus is 19 - 23 " length (scruff of neck to tail). To be safe I purchased both... Tried on the small first which happened to be too large, considering the description indicates that the fit should be snug. Obviously if the small is too large I'll be sending back the small plus.I got both suits delivered the morning of her surgery, so ended up having her wear the small to bed as the Well & Good Inflatable Collar which I also purchased as an 'in-case' seemed to be a bit clumsy for her to wear in her crate (she couldn't turn around without it hitting the sides of the crate). Lets just say I got little to no sleep because I was very paranoid that she could get to her stitches as the space around her hind legs was quite gaping. But that was a result of my poor planning, should have ordered way in advance to ensure I had the correct size!I plan to purchase the x-small 16 - 18 " length (scruff of neck to tail) later today and hope that it (1) is not too tight around the neck as the small neck is perfect; (2) won't have an excess amt of space around the hind legs and (3) does not fit too snug in the belly area (would rather have no friction around her scar area). Will update when I get the x-small!UPDATE (2weeks after initial purchase): Ok so the x-small was too tight around her neck so returned that as well... Since then we have purchased another small in order to alternate when we wash every 2 days. I machine wash on regular cycle/ hot water using Ecos laundry detergent. They have both shrunk a tad bit but are still loose enough so it does not cause friction on her stitches. The material is definelty of good quality because the color has not faded too much. I've added update pics so you can see how the leg space is much smaller from the shrinkage.

Wow, this item was a life saver!
I purchased the Suitical Recovery Suit after my Golden Retriever had extensive surgery that involved several sites that had either sutures or staples on her back, sides and chest. She has the dreaded cone and while it does a wonderful job keeping her from biting or licking the wounds with her mouth, it does not prevent her from scratching them with her back paws. At day two post surgery I was a nervous wreck trying to keep her paws away from the surgery sites. I was frantically looking for an answer when I came across the Suitical Recovery Suit on Amazon. I was concerned that it would be too hot for my dog to wear or that she would bite a hole in it. As it turns out, I am very glad I gave it a try. We are now day five post surgery and so far as long as I have the suit on her, she does not even try to scratch. I don't even have to put the cone on her anymore during the day time as long as I am home with her. She does not appear to be overheating or hot at all for that matter, however, she is inside under air conditioning. The suit is easy to put on my dog and she seems to enjoy wearing it. It goes over the head like a pullover shirt and snaps at the bottom to hold it in place. It easily unsnaps for potty breaks. It is a stretchy type material and fits snuggly and I think it provides some comfort because of that. She can do everything she normally does when wearing it and it does not bind up anywhere. I love the high neck because part of her surgery was high on her shoulders so the high neck on the suit helps to keep the stitches covered but lets air in so no problem with healing. There is a blue pocket on the inside bottom part of the suit that looks like you could put a cool or warm pack in but I have no reason at this time to try it out. I purchased the extra large for my 78lb Golden Retreiver, 29" from head to tail. It fits her pretty well although it can become just a little bit baggy in the butt. It doesn't affect how the suit works though. I highly recommend this suit for a dog that is normally not an enormous chewer. I wouldn't leave any dog post surgery alone with the suit on as it won't hold up to biting or severe scratching at it. But for my situation it has completely eliminated all that and I have a happy comfortable dog 5 days past surgery.*UPDATE: Using the suite we made it for all 10 days past surgery without any scratching or biting of the wounds. I really love this suit and will use it again if the need arises, however, a few thoughts should be shared to be sure I am giving you information that will be helpful to your situation in deciding whether to purchase a suit for your dog. #1- I never left my dog alone with the suit on. The suit is made of a stretchy material that is a little thicker than a normal shirt. If a dog wanted to, it would be very easy for them to bite a hole in the suit or even tear it to bits. My dog never tried but we kept her under constant observation during the day. #2- Although my dog slept with the suit on every night, I also put her cone on just before I went to bed and took it off first thing every morning. This allowed me to sleep with a fair amount of confidence that she would not chew the suit or her stitches during the night. #3- The suit began to be quite baggy at the bottom by the end of the 10 days. I would likely have done just fine with a large size instead of an extra large size for my 78lb golden retriever.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND over a cone!
This suit is amazing!!! I was a little nervous on using it over the cone because I thought maybe she would be able to still get to her stitches after her spay, but , nope. She doesn’t even really try to.I got a MEDIUM PLUS. She’s a golden retriever about 67 pounds and it fits her perfectly.I almost thought I should have two for washing purposes but I took it off and washed and put it back on her and she didn’t really try for her stitches .... but each puppy is different , so maybe order two and then return one of you don’t use it?! But, I HIGHLY recommend this for any type reason you don’t want your dog to lick or get at a sore or something. The collars are so hard for them to be in and this lets them just be them and they are comfy. The material is soft and comfy. When I take her out I just unbutton and I don’t use the center button under her as they show, I just move the bottom part out of the way and swing it to the side and re-snap it up further .... it was easier for me to do it that way.

Perfect!
I hate the horrible plastic cones and was dreading having my dog spayed. My dog still likes to be crated at night and I knew the cone was going to make it difficult for her to settle. Stupidly, I didn't purchase one before surgery and we all spent a very restless, uncomfortable first night with the cone. The extra cost for quick delivery was worth every single penny and this coat is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I take it off for a while during the day when I know I can watch her. I was confused about the sizing when I was making the purchase and had to use other people's reviews as a guide to which size I should get. My dog is a smaller Labrador and I opted for the large size but probably could have got away with a medium+. It fits her nicely on the upper part of the body and although it is a tiny bit saggy around the back end, it is covering the wound and letting it breathe so is the perfect size. The poppers at the rear make it easy for toileting. The size guide on the packaging is very clear and it would have been useful to see that beforehand. If it helps anyone, the guide, which is based on length, is as follows: XXXS & XXS Chihuahua; XS Yorkshire Terrier; Small Maltese, Pug; Small+ Cocker Spaniel, Beagle; Medium Chow Chow, Poodle; Medium+ Collie, Labrador; Large Labrador, Boxer; XL German Shepherd, Rottweiler; XXL St Bernard.

So handy!
So I bought this suit in the wrong size. It was one size too big but that was an error on my part.5* for this as it’s really well made. Nice soft material. Thick enough that if he was to try itching or nibbling at something he shouldn’t through it, it would unlikely cause any damage or prolong healing.I had to use hair bands to tie up parts of the material to make sure it wouldn’t allow him to get to his stictches.I love that you can un-pop it by the tail. It can then be rolled up, as secured with another popper on the underside. This is great for when my dog was going outside for a wee. I didn’t have to faff too much, or take it all the way off. I could just roll it up.He also didn’t seem to mind wearing it either so must be comfortable. And I was so pleased to find something like this, as he is a rescue and the cone petrified him.

Excellent quality but measure your doggie!!
Excellent product. I needed something to put on my baby after her operation to spay her. When I picked her up she had a cone on her head and the feeling of dread set in pretty fast. There is no way that I could do a week of cone head with her, she is an ultra hyper dog and has enough issues with wearing a collar. So, I looked online and found this post op suit from suitical. The suit arrived this morning and as I took it out of the package, I was pleasantly surprised to find the material was of excellent quality, as was the stitching and pop buttons. The cotton is thin but sturdy so perfect for my girl to wear in the house without feeling too constrained. At the crotch and belly section of the suit is a layer of blue padding which I imagine would be great for any leaky wounds. However, being a fool I did not measure my dog and just expected the small to fit fine. I was wrong by a good 15cm length and diameter. To rectify this the best I could, I have just thrown in a few lines of stitches here and there and it now fits. Sort of.So, for my review I would say that this is a must have item for any fussy doggie. The quality is superb and worth the money 10 times over. However!!! Don't be a fool like me! Measure your dog and make sure you get the correct size. The small is a big fit and I suspect it would be great for a normal sized staffy. Do not expect it to fit a Boston terrier, Yorkshire terrier or Lhasa also ( my three dogs)Measure twice, buy once and avoid putting silly poor quality stitches in a great item for your dog cupboard!!

So much better than a traditional cone - the bucket of shame
I was initially very sceptical about the thought of the dog wearing a onesie after surgery but it was suggested by one of the nurses at the vets who had used a suit on her own dog post surgery. It proved to be an Excellent option. The dog accepted the suit with no problem and we spent a couple of trial evenings before surgery making sure she was comfortable. She wore the suit for entire 10 day post op period and wound healed beautifully. She was only allowed out in the garden so the pink suit was very acceptable, I suspect if I'd needed to walk the dog in public the suits colourful appearance would have raised comments!! She was able to move round the house freely and even sleep in her crate as usual which would not have been possible with a traditional cone. The suit washed well and had practical babygro type fasteners for ease when she needed to toilet. We bought size large which was loose on our 7 month old bearded collie pup but this meant it was not rubbing on her wound so worked well. Well worth the money.

Suitical Recovery Suit
I bought this prior to getting my dog spayed. The original plan was to keep her in the Cone of Shame for the first week, and then in the suit for final healing. However, on the first night home she was absolutely terrified by the cone, so at 3am I put her suit on. She wore it for about two weeks following her op, and it was a god send. I washed it and tumble dried it every few days during that time, and it always looked as good as new.Would really recommend this to anyone.
